LOVE Pitaland….especially chicken shawarma, grapeleaves, and house salad!!! We get take out about once a week….just check to make sure your takeout order is correct before you leave!!! Unfortunately there’s only about a 50-50 chance it’s right!!!

A Hidden Treasure – THE BEST GYRO IN PITTSBURGH. Well, Thanks to Pitaland, I am eating my own words. I have long praised Mike and Tony’s as being the best in the burgh for gyros. In fact, I did a review about 2 years ago saying just that. I continue to sample other places, and then Id just go back to them. One day, I stumbled into Pitaland. Its a little greek market, with a cafe/food counter inside. I thought, why not, and ordered a gyro. The world as I knew it would never be the same. LOL I can’t even explain how amazing this gyro was. Huge, Fresh, and delicious. Leaps and bounds better than any other.I have not set foot in Mike and Tony’s ever since. This place is a MUST TRY.

Absolutely DELICIOUS!!. The first time I ate here it was amazing … so I went back to make sure it was consistent. And I’m so happy to say that it was. I had the margherita pizza that was one of the best I’ve had in Pittsburgh. Thin crust, crispy, delicious balance of sauce and cheese. The fried artichokes melt in your mouth. The fried kibbie and stuffed grape leaves (with meat) are fantastic. I’ve liked every single thing I’ve tried here. I would agree with one of the other reviewers that it can be a bit of a wait if they get crowded. But don’t let that discourage you, it’s well worth the wait!

Get Yourself to This Spot!. This cafe/store is a real find in the middle of Brookiline. I had shopped there on numerous occassions and always take our out of town guests there and nobody has ever been disappointed. They have frozen gyro meat at an extremely reasonable price along with homemade pitas and gyro sauce. An excellent dinner at home that is restaurant quality. Their baked goods are amazing (try the pistachio baklava!!!), The variety of olives is great at a good price per pound as is the lentil, bulgar wheat, and grain options. A definite must try is their cafe. The lamb burger is the most authentic I have had since being in Greece, delicious meat and nice tasting feta and ciabatta bread. You definiely need at least 2 people to share the fries, which are seasoned perfectly (no salt or pepper required) and come with a fabulous aioli. I cannot say enough about this place except that you should not wait another day to get there!

Better Than ALL of the Rest. (Thats Period). Better Than ALL of the Rest.(Thats Period) Hello Yinzers! This is a review that Im sure will last the test of time, about a restaurant(more importantly their food/service) that could survive nuclear holocaust, let alone a bad economy. Pitaland is this restaurants name, and a finer Mediterranean/Lebanese/AMERICAN, experience you have never had… That is unless you have had the pleasure of enjoying one of their many, many, many… Authentic and original treats, whether Import, or made fresh right here in Da Burg. I should know, we chefs have a sophisticated palate, and look for three main things to consider of something outstanding the rest: Good food(I.E. Product/Execution), Good Service(I.E. Friendly/Timely), and Sanitation(I.E. A Clean/Healthy satandard of food service and distribution). Fortunately for anybody with taste buds, you need not look any further for the freshest expertly executed food possibly in the greater Pittsburgh area. This food is prepared by the friendliest nose to the grindstone Caf jockeys, and Little Prep Area Ladies that you are going to find anywhere. Also, an establishments cleanliness is the first thing you notice, and Pitaland has shining stainless steel, clean floors, and an open Ala Carte Line where even on the busiest days the counters/floors are as clean as your own kitchen at home. Maybe even cleaner! More specifically I ordered a Gyro, Fries, and a wedge of Baklava. As always, the Gyro was perfectly large, with the freshest cut vegetables, sauce, and undoubtedly the freshest house made Pita that anybody will ever eat ever. The fries were every day Shoestring Fries with a not so every day seasoning and house Aioli that Im sure would make our own Heinz Ketchup jealous. And the Baklava… Oh the Baklava. Again a perfectly large wedge, of fresh Filo, Walnut filling, and a Honey Syropee that after one bite is true bliss. Even if you are full enough to explode after one bite of this Baklava, you will find yourself savoring this decadent masterpiece of an authentic dessert until it has unfortunately disappeared. Lastly, The service in this place is second to none. From the friendly staff, the timely and competitively priced food, and the intriguing Middle Eastern accents, this place will leave you hooked. Pitaland is the definition of the words Enterprising, Entrepreneurial, Free Market, and Capitalist. Even easier for even the laymen to understand; When it comes to Gyros/Mediterranean food, this is Pitalands world, and every other restaurant is just renting space in it.Chef James Nixon07/13/2013

I have shipped at Pitaland for years. I love the fresh cheeses, olives, baked goods and in-house made pitas. I recently tried their newest addition, The Pitaland Cafe, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the lamb burger, which was very fresh and very big. The fries came with a rich rosemary aioli that was insanely delicious. I cannot wait to try the entire menu!

Good. My husband and I had breakfast here and I have no complaints about the food, it is about as fresh as it can be.But….there are no chairs here, and some of this food is hard to eat standing up. Only one person was working the food orders and the register, and we waited 15 minutes for the food. Cook needs to wear gloves while handling food if he is touching money. Food is served in plastic baskets with paper liners, not good if you are eating something wet. It soaked through the paper and stuck to the Foul.Next time I am in Brookline, I will try the lunch.
