Review. 8 of us went prior to Christmas, the ambience was terrific, but service and food all mediocre. 6 of us arrived, and while waiting for our last two to arrive, we looked over the menu, ordered drinks, and were discussing and commenting on how beautiful the place was, when the owner comes over, didn’t say hello, no welcome at all , and told us we needed to hurry up and place order, as they were expecting a larger party, she didn’t want to jam up the kitchen. There was one other couple in the place, and none of the expected LARGE party was there. Never came back to see how we liked our meals, etc. NEVER going back, my favorite is Capporella’s in Uniontown , they are always accomodating, food is great, great experience . If I’m spending $ for a meal, don’t want to feel rushed, and not appreciated.Several of our friends also feel the same way andwould never return.

It looks to me as if beba98 works for the Back Porch or is possibly an owner. The way you wrote that review, and you mention the Back Porch specifically, is suspect. Plus you have only written one review. This is a fake review. I have nothing to do with 12 Oaks and I could care less but next time you write a review to bash the competition, be a little smarter and more inconspicuous.05 Oct, 2014Excellent food. The house was an antique and historic landmark. The atmosphere was quaint. The service was very good. The side dish was Brussel sprouts and it was awful. The entrees were delicious. The only negative thing was they had no after dinner drinks to offer. For a high end restaurant, that needs to be addressed. We asked for Grand Manier and Drambuie but they did not have them. We will be back. The bar downstairs was very comfortable.

The atmosphere was really beautifully decked out for the holiday! The staff was not educated on the menu items or the preparation. She had to tell us that they were out of the first four things we ordered! Our reservations were for 6 pm on New Year’s Eve so I think the person responsible for ordering the food for the evening was not on the ball. It was, after all, New Year;s Eve! The meal, for the most part, was good. The service was very poor. We had to look for our waitress several times to get refills on our cocktails and even water. We will give Twelve Oaks another try on a less busy evening but will remind the server of the poor quality we received this night.

Needs polishing. Holiday dinner in the lower tavern was enjoyable. Food was 80% tasty. Odd dessert had to be sent back. Decor is pretty for holiday. A little over done. Nice for Brownsville. The polishing part is directed at matching the prices to serving style. As soon as I see wrapped silverware in a paper napkin, I question how much knowledge the owners have in fine dining. Teaspoons for soup, one fork for salad and entree, No spoon for coffee, bread served on the side of entree plate with pasta.Had to grab silverware from another table for dessert. Not acceptable. That’s how I operate in my own kitchen with the family dinner. Not at these prices. I hope they do well, and lend a hand to fixing brownsville but, with the Back Porch at the next exit that has fine tuned their skills, they have a lot to come up to when grabbing dining dollars.

So pricey for not that great food. The food wasn’t that great at all and it was so expensive. I would never go back. The waitresses had no idea what they were doing. I would of rather of went to eat n park. Horrible

The food and presentation of the food was spectacular. The staff were personable, friendly, and prompt. The atmosphere was great and very unique! Had the filet mignon. For the price of the meal I was very satisfied with the size of the cut! Cooked perfectly. Will definitely be coming back again and bringing more people with me!

Twelve Oaks Exceeded my expectations!. I took my family for a birthday celebration to Twelve Oaks. The food was AMAZING and the portions were huge! The lobster mac and cheese is to die for and the serving size is a dinner portion! The food presentation is beautiful. The salads are a work of art. The restored home is gorgeous! The servers were very nice and knowledgeable. Best of all, the pricing is very reasonable for what you get. I would definitely recommend the restaurant.
