Loud Loud LOUD!. Unique for central PA but unexceptional.Great beer selection.Dull food.impossible service.LOUD!
Boring. What the heck are people thinking? Went in for dinner because of all the CARLISLE hype and was terribly let down! Food was okay just not what I expected and the service was bla, as if I was in an English pub…. The ambiance was the strangest thing I have ever seen.. It was like a Belgium pub crossed roads with an American diner and a open chain restaurant kitchen! Desert was freaking killer though, Cheesecake something or other and my wife’s the desert was so good we took one home!
Great place. The atmosphere of this restaurant is awesome. It makes you feel like you’re far away from Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Servers are also friendly and funny, plus the food is amazing, (try the Belgian waffle for dessert!)
Good food, too many tables. Wait staff can’t get in to where you sit.
I can’t say enough good things about this place. Aside from the fantastic Belgian beer options, the food is mouth watering. Every ‘quiche of the day’ I’ve experienced has been worth it. Mussles are always fresh and the hardest part is deciding which sauce to choose. Soups are always great, but even something light like the leek tarte with the little side salad is fulfilling. It’s food I crave! I always want something fresh and different, so if you’re tired of the same old stuff, visit Cafe Bruges.
Right in the heart of downtown Carlisle, this place is popular with college students and thirty something’s. I had the Steak Frites with Horseradish sauce. The presentation was fitting with the casual cafe style. Meal was prepared as ordered and tasted great. A mixture of cream sauces, savoury herbs, and earthy mushroom mixed well with the beef and vegetables. Frites were firm and the horseradish sauce was perfect with the steak main. Watch out for the extra $1.50 charge for the peppercorn sauce!
Get the pork chop!
