Definitely worth a visit. Very nice food. But, to put my Australian hat on…. this is in the heart of farming land, why isnt there a focus on local produce? The duck dish was trying too hard and frankly, too sweet for my non-US palate. The beef was fabulous and the risotto a perfect creamy accompaniment. Broccolini shouldnt have even been accepted by the chef as produce as it was past its best. Nice wine list. Nice bar area and pleasant staff.
Excellent food and a very attentive staff. They mentioned an $8 lunch special which was incredible. We were lured into staying for dessert by the quality.
$5 Monday Martinis. Since the ’email us’ link doesn’t work on your website, I have to use this forum. I was there on $5 Monday martinis. Simple arithmetic. 2 $5 martinis, a $6 bowl of soup and $.96 tax = $16.96. As you can see, my bill is considerably more. I used my debit card, so a refund for the difference would be greatly appreciated. Other than that, it was a lovely experience that I was hoping to repeat.
Thursday night at the 71!!!. We came into town looking for good food with an alive atmosphere, well we found it. We sat at the bar and had a great meal. The bar tender Sarah was very good and the owner Barbara was a joy to talk too. We go the lamb lollipops and bistro burger, I would highly recommend both.Debbie from NH
Wonderful local place.. Chambersburg is not just around the corner from me, but I would gladly travel twice this distance to experience the wonderful, friendly, service and quality food at Bistro 71 again. We were honored to have met the owners, who were absolutely gracious. The food was fantastic on all accounts. This place is worth the travel and combined with a weekend at a local B&B, you can create a memorable weekend for sure.
