Excellent all around !. One of the best hidden gems in Pittsburgh, PA ! Fast service. Quiet atmosphere. Unbelievable selections.Everything is made fresh. Portions are satisfying. BLT is my favorite!! If you love bacon, then you must try this.There’s at least 3-4 selections of soups daily. Great pasta salads… and with every sandwich you get huge handful of potato chips, slices of pickles and slice of orange. I have never left hungry or disappoint. Never.
BEST BURGER in the BURG…. The Steakburger, priced at a riduculous $4.95 is amazing. Bread is by Breadworks-always fresh. The Burger, consistently cooked to order, mine at a perfect Medium-pink, not rare; delicious, huge, and topped with very fresh lettuce, tomato, onions, etc. and comes with a slice of orange & very fresh chips. And the Ladies at the APOLLO ARE ALWAYS FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, A DELIGHT!
Great Lunch Place. Good food, friendly people. Greek salad and grape leaves are very good.
Breakfast is great. Huge and tasty omelettes and pancakes. Friendly and quick staff. This place is a hidden gem.
Excellent lunchtime cafe. I frequent this place and get soup everytime. They have rotating soups, wedding, gazpacho, lemon chicken, chicken noodle, seafood bisque–they’re the best soups in town, they all taste excellent and are filling enough for them to be a meal. The customer service is outstanding–both corteous and extremely fast. The menu is large and includes gyros and many sandwiches–everything I’ve had is good. If you work downtown there’s no reason not to go to this place for lunch. A++++
Best Salad Dressing. I have an obsession with the Apollo Cafe. The obsession stems from my love of their vinaigrette salad dressing, and the fact that they are not a chain restaurant. Good prices, great food, family owned- what more could you ask for?
D-Lish. I love this place and I should go there more! They have such a great selection of food, both greek and non-greek and their portions are huge. The soups are always on point and the greek salad is authentic and has enough of all the goodies you’re looking for (not 2 crumbles of feta, like some places). They also have great daily specials! There isn’t a lot of room to sit down, so if you’d like to do so, go early or come late or take out. The service is great and the price is right!
