Cocktails and rich food.
cool gastropub place right next to hotel, but they don’t carry good tequila.
This food could be really good.I like the place, and the atmosphere is cool, kind of like your regular place in NYC. The food would be really good, but they love salt. (So do I), but they LOVE it to a fault. Our meals would have been amazing, if they wouldn’t have spilled the salt shaker on it. I feel the same about meat and potatoes, it was good, but then it got really salty. I no longer go there (meat and potatoes) after we ordered a meal that was virtually inedible, and they claimed it was perfectly prepared. Gross. I went to butcher and the rye a while ago and I liked it. I went again and was really let down…(and I ordered the same thing cause it was so tasty.) I feel like the real chef’s set these places up and get them running, then some other salt happy people come in and ruin it for me. Guess I’ll need to find another cool place to eat : / (that’s a shame).
Great dishes, atmosphere, and service! We had the Crispy Octopus and Cauliflower small plates followed by the Dirty Pasta and Roasted Chicken large plates. The octopus and chicken dishes were excellent. The pasta was really good, but a little over salted. The cauliflower was exotic but just good. Imaginative design throughout the restaurant; very cozy. Highly recommended.
If you end up in Pittsburgh not knowing where to eat I cannot recommend this place more. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was great and the service was amazing. I haven’t had a meal as good anywhere outside of NYC. Seating outside was available without a reservation early which worked perfectly for our small family. Amazing place… eat here!
Love it here! Started with the Brussels (amazing) had the scallops while my boyfriend had the butcher burger. The scallops were absolutely awesome and he said the burger was good but definitely too hyped up for them to sell out so quickly. We ended with the dessert feature, which was my favorite part but I’m also biased there bc my friend is the pastry chef. Definitely worth a try!
I have to say that this is one of my favorite restaurants at the moment. The decor is fabulous. The service is very good and the food is super creative.
