Amazing lunch spot!!! The pizza is great. Fresh toppings. The salads are good and their dressings are out of this world. They use to have another location which was great. Wish they would open another one in the South Hills since sometimes it’s hard to get downtown.

Good Lunch Spot. I decided to try the City Oven today for lunch. What a treat. I noticed most everyone in the place had pizza and it all looked good, but after glancing over the menu I decided on the Sausage and Peppers sandwich. The guy behind the counter who took my order was pleasant enough. He asked if I wanted my sandwich with wheat or white bread (I choose wheat) and if I would rather have a side of chips or a cup of pineapple. I went with the pineapple thinking it would be a nice contrast to spiciness of the sausage and peppers. He even offered me a cup for water without pressuring me into purchasing a soft drink (who does that anymore). My sandwich was ready in about 5 minutes. The bread is tough to describe. Its obviously made in-house and it kind of resembled a toasted flat bread… delicious never the less. It came with a generous topping of sauted peppers and onions and I was also surprised to see that the sausage wasnt a patty or a link but rather crumbled. The sandwich was very tasty. I have mixed emotions on the atmosphere of the City Oven. While it is well lit, very clean, modern yet casual, it was also a bit cramped. Id say thats about my only negative on the place but it wont deter me from going back. Id like to try the pizza next time. Thumbs up for the City Oven.

Second Chance. Good Afternoon,This is the second time i’ve got take out at City oven. First, being the wrong order, and secondly i ordered a margharita pizza and it wasn’t even made correctly. It had sauce on it and the mozzarella cheese just fell off the pizza. Did i say it was ice cold? I Will never order again !

Local Food – Fast Service – Great for Lunch!. City Oven has great quality food, especially the Oven Fired Sandwiches! I stop in almost twice a week for lunch during my busy work day. Personally love the Chicken Pesto Sandwich and the White Pizza! — Also, very convenient to stop in for a quick Egg & Cheese sandwich on my way to work!

Some of the best pizza in the ‘burgh!. This pizza is great. All the portions of the pizza are high quality. The crust is thin and very crispy. You can choose your type of sauce – red, vodka, sweet, or white. The white pizza has globs of ricotta – the way white pizza should be. You can get whole wheat crust too (which is very tasty!) I usually get a plain vodka sauce slice or a white slice with grilled chicken. City oven and villa reale make the best pizza in Pittsburgh in my opinion!

Fabulous, fresh delicious food!. I have eaten at the City Oven located in Dormont and in the city. Both are exceptional. The pizza is definitely not their greatest menu item but it is still very fabulous and there are so many types of sauces, toppings, etc. you can get. Their paninis are out of this world. Wonderful, fresh, hearty wheat bread with great ingredients. Salads have tons of veggies on them and their dressing is homemade and so delicious. If you’re in the city, great lunch spot. Very quick getting your order to you. The one in Dormont is BYOB and fun to go to with a group of friends/family for dinner. Vegetarian friendly 🙂
