Way overpriced!!!. My husband, our 3 children and I visited after a family outing at the convention center. The food wasnt bad, nothing special but not bad. The menu is extremely small and everything is way too expensive! !! I had a salad and my husband and children all had cheese burgers with fries, our bill came to $75! Absolutely absurd! I will never visit again.
Most expensive and the worst food I ever had!. I have never written a review before, but I wanted to warn people not to go to this restaurant! First the beer I ordered was flat and the waiter said someone else complained about that too. He did give me a glass of wine at no extra charge, but why would you serve flat beer to someone knowing it was flat!! We stopped there because it said Kid’s Menu outside and we had children with us. We were in shock when we received the bill as the kid’s meal was $8 and drinks were not included. The waiter recommended the chicken nachos so my friend and I ordered that as well as a Caesar salad. The waiter brought out the nachos with chips with some chunks of chicken on top, some melted cheese and a blob of sour cream on top along with a tiny scoop of salsa which we were told was all that was left. We were in shock when our bill came to $67 for two kid’s meals, a salad, nachos and 4 drinks!! Stay away!!! The waiter was nice, but should look for a new job – this place can’t stay open long!!
Re: Run far away from this place. You don’t know what to believe about this place. The reviews are just awful. My experience was actually not that bad. However, other people have said that the restaurant is just disgusting. All the blame should be pointed at Trek Development. They are the buffoons that got the wool pulled over their eyes and let this guy move right in to the building and resume ownership of this restaurant. Trek and the Cultural Trust should be ashamed of themselves.08 Oct, 2014Don’t believe all the terrible reviews. This restaurant is in such a great location and I called my friend who lives in the Century Building to get the real dilio about this place. We wanted to check this place out because we had theater tickets and the restaurant is in the heart of the theater district. My friend told me that the old building manager who does not work there anymore set up a coordinated bash campaign to bring bad publicity to this restaurant. Numerous residents were told to bash the restaurant on this website. The reason for this coordinated effort stems from fact that some of the residents did not like people smoking outside the building on the street. Bottom line, my party of six went there for dinner last week. The service was good, and the food was delicious.
RUN FAR AWAY from this place. Went here with my daughter before a show at the Benedum. Wanted to go to Proper Brick Oven, but there was a 20 min wait and we were afraid of being late to our show, so we decided to go to this place across the street. Huge mistake. Started off with a glass of wine, but when our server brought it out I noticed there were still lipstick marks on the rim of the glass. Eww. Food was expensive, which surprised me since the atmosphere seemed casual (and frankly kind of dirty). I had the salmon, which was supposed to have a glaze on it, but it came out plain, with not even a lemon. No salt and pepper on the tables. Mashed potatoes were lumpy and cold. My daughter got chicken fingers and fries from the ‘kids menu’ and it was edible, but certainly not worth the $8.00 we paid. The waiter asked if she wanted ketchup as soon as he brought our meal, she said yes. He brought the ketchup about 10 minutes later. I asked for our check as soon as our meals came out, since service was slow and I did not want to be late for our show. I paid cash, the waiter brought us our change, I left a generous tip despite the fact that the food and service were both poor. But the real craziness happened later that night. As we were leaving our show at the Benedum, an older lady stopped me as my daughter and I walked out the main doors. She asked me if I had eaten at her restaurant earlier that evening, and she pointed towards the Grille on Seventh. I said I had eaten at that restaurant, and she said that I had not paid, and I needed to come with her and pay her, or she was going to have me arrested!! She said something about having it all on video, and then she called over our waiter, who accused me of not paying. Clearly my waiter took the cash and told the owner (or whoever that lady was) I skipped on the bill.My daughter (who is 7) was in tears at this point. I gave them a quick detail on how I paid, told them they should be ashamed of themselves, and hightailed it back to our car. Thankfully we parked in the open lot across from the Benedum and there were plenty of people all around. I asked the lot attendant if he knew anything about the restaurant, and before I told him anything about my story, he told me they were crooks, and he would never recommend anyone to go there. I asked him to watch as we walked to our car to make sure nobody followed us.Terrible food and service are one thing, but I never expected to be tangled up in employee theft and false accusations!! Hopefully this restaurant is shut down sooner rather than later.
Will never return. I have never posted a review on a restaurant but I never had a meal go so wrong. My husband ordered the stuffed hamburger and I ordered the fried chicken breast sandwich. We waited about 25 minutes for our meals, and when they came there was no onion ring on the burger and mine was a grilled chicken sandwich. When I let the waiter know it was supposed to be fried he took it back right away and told me it would be 2 more minutes. The waiter came back to say there were no more onion rings. I told my husband to eat since his fries were already cold and hardly even cooked and I didn’t want it to get any colder. Another 20 minutes went by and my husband was completely done with his meal. Finally he brings out my sandwich which ended up having 4 chicken tenders on the bun rather than a chicken breast like I ordered. I was almost halfway through my sandwich and cold fries when I looked at the meat and saw a raw section. When I used my knife to cut the other pieces open I saw that 2 out of the 4 were COMPLETELY RAW. The lunch ended with me sick in the parking garage. Do not waste your time or money going to this place.
The majority can’t be wrong.. We almost never go to a restaurant without reading some reviews first to get an idea of what we are getting ourselves into, not this time. We were seeing a show and thought, a restaurant in the cultural district, how bad could it be? Oh My! The menu is very small, and the prices very high. The server was harried and apologetic, but very, very sweet. She and the bartender seemed perpetually embarrassed to be even working there. ,There was one man, presumably the manager in jeans and a polo shirt. He was the most clueless of all.The food was bland, and the seafood very fishy tasting. My husband paid $41 for a small steak, for 4 small fishy, gritty scallops, frozen veg and bland potatoes. No bread service. No wine list. Many people sat and walked out. I cannot believe this place is even open. They were crowded when we left because of the proximity to the theater, but seriously not worth the high prices at all!
We gave it a chance and…. Just visited this establishment over the weekend. The service was fine, as there were no other customers present upon our arrival. It is pricey, but our drinks were good and the appetizers were delicious. The staff were nice and prompt. I believe the Chef’s name is Joe, my apologies if I am wrong. He came out to see if we were enjoying ourselves and the food. You could tell there was some friction between him and the bartender Brook, but overall we will give them another chance when we go back!
