Awesome Indian cuisine at a great price. Take a pleasant walk over the Roberto Clemente bridge from PNC Park to find a wide variety of delicious ethnic dishes, great service, and great prices; it’s a 2 hour drive from where we live, but we want to go back!!! yum.
Well worth pre-theater. My wife and I were looking for a restaurant near the O’Reilly theater. Walking up 6th around the corner we decided to try Indian Spices. Smart move on our part. The food was excellent as was the service and the atmosphere was nice. Our server helped us decide on a spiciness level. It was perfect, One additional attraction of Indian Spices was it did not have a satellite tv(s) blaring bollywood musical videos. Best of all, the total bill was one of the most reasonabloe we have had in a long time. My wife enjoys really good raita. She was more than satisfied. Portions were not overly large — they were just perfect for before theater.
Food was ok on the buffet. Not a whole lot of flavor but still good. The vegetarian selection was not so good, tasteless and bland. The pudding was good though. Food was filling.
YES.. I love, love, love this place. REALLY good Indian food. Their Malai Kofta is THE BOMB. Did I mention that I love this place?
Great food, staff was friendly could have been a little happier. Overall a great place to go for Indian food!
I’m indian so understand the food, and the food was okay, but the service made me angry. I asked for the vegetarian Thali because the menu said it Came with paneer makhani or shahi paneer, one of those (I like the rich, creamy gravy) When I got the thaali, it had mutter paneer, not shahi paneer. The gravy is completely different and it had green peas. I told the server that I dIdnt want this, I wanted the item indicated in the menu. She was sweet, but has no idea about the food and went in to consult the cook. The response amazed me. Apparently since he had put cream in the mutter paneer, it now became paneer makhani! There were no apologies and no concessions made for the duplicity. Needless to say, we’re never going back and recommend u stay away if u want the food u asked for.
I love Indian food, but not this place. The food was mediocre at best and the service was slow and somewhat rude. I’m just going to stick with India Garden in Oakland.
