One of Pittsburgh’s best! Always great food and great service. Pan-blackened catfish and Jambalaya are particularly amazing. Selection of on-tap beers is well selected for the season. Done here, if you like cajen you will be surprised!
Was craving shrimp and grits one day and a co worked suggested Nola. The atmosphere was very light and festive but as far as the grits I was a bit disappointed. I’ve had better for less.
Worst brunch everThere were hard stems of kalette in the soup and an order of eggs Benedict came with hard cooked eggs. And to top it all there was no soap in the women’s restroom – right next to the sign that said employees were required to wash their hands. Makes you wonder???
Such a great atmosphere for starters. The food is on another level than most soutern cusine, and most importantly- it is original! They won the Pittsburgh Social Exchange’s cookoff a few summers ago, and they pride themselves in meals of all points of appetite. A great venue- happy they are back!
We went to Nola against our better judgement for our son’s birthday on a Thursday night at 7:45. We had already a bad experience from a previous visit. Our waiter was totally accommodating, as much as he could be. We ordered 4 different beers that were advertised at the bar, none of which were available. The jambalaya was burnt, dry and salty….anything but authentic. The other dinners were lukewarm. Then came time for dessert. Again, they were out of 2 items on the dessert menu…Really????? Why don’t you just close your doors.
Nice atmosphere staff has little to be desired. They ignored us after making a drink that was not what we ordered. We didn’t make a big deal but they were less than thrilled..
Do not get the grilled portobello panini. Soggy bread and rubbery mushroom. Gumbo is good. Service was decent. Overall nothing special, will not go back
