Hanging out in the Steel City at Redbeards Sports Bar. Pirates fans heading to the game and Penguins fans coming in. Stopped for a,quick snack Half Dozen Cajun Wings and homemade chips topped off with a Blue Moon. Food was good .Service fast and attentive. I would definitely recommend. Just a short walk over the bridge to PNC park
Excellent bar food! We stopped for lunch before the U.S. Women’s Soccer match. What a clean and good looking sports bar! The service was very attentive, and the multiple TVs were impressive. This is definitely more a bar than a restaurant though. Dim lights, not many tables. But the burgers we got were very high quality. My wife and I both tried the Ball Park burger. You can choose between pink or not and we got pink. Very juicy. Fairly flavorful for being charbroiled. They were a little skimpy on the fries, and although I liked the coarse sea salt, I hate steak fries. The cook forgot to put bacon on our burgers as well as the gentleman behind us who ordered the same. However, once I politely asked the serve about this, she returned with an apology and a big plate of bacon. Apology accepted! Redbeard’s lost some points due to the fries and bacon misstep, but for bar food, they are far and above other bars. Excellent! 08/16/15
Welcomed!. So we came in on Saturday evening during our fab little downtown bar crawl we do ever so often! We decided to sit at the bar as it wasn’t so busy yet. Immediately we were greeted by the first bartender who was eager to shake our hands and get our names, impressive. As we ordered drinks the second bartender made her way over to also introduce herself and shake our hands! (It is very rare that you see these things ever) so good job Redbeards! The drinks were great! No complaints on any of our ends and even though we only split an order of nachos with chili, I must say we enjoyed the appetizer. We definitely look forward to making many more stop here’s! Ive never felt more welcomed in a bar or pleased like I did saturday. Cheers, Redbeards for great service and food/beverage.
Drink Prices???. I paid $10 for a Guinness draft…I asked the bartender after I received my drink and no change how much a Guinness draft was, he replied around $10….seriously??????
Good Sports Spot. I’m not sure why the scores are so low here. They have really great wings, a decent beer selection, and plenty of TV’s for game day. The other thing I like is their layout. Although every seat was full during the Steelers game, there was still plenty of room to move around. It isn’t jam-packed even when it’s busy.My burger was just okay…my wife’s was better. Good service. They’ll be in the sports-grub rotation.
Service. Food is C and service is maybe the worst of any downtown place in Pittsburgh. Unless they know you as a local server somewhere they really do not pay any attention to you.
Will Be Back. A group of us went here for lunch last Friday. The service was good and so was the atmosphere. I had the bacon horseradish wings. They are promoted as jumbo wings but they are just your regular sized wings. They were crispy and the sauce was excellent! They have a lot of different sauces and dry rubs that I would like to try.
