Pedestrian. Had dinner with my inlaws during a recent vacation. We have visited Ruth’s Chris Steak Houses in 3 other cities and were excited to try the Pittsburgh location. The service was great and the location very centrally located in downtown. Unfortunately, the food was nothing to rave about. My husband’s strip was very pedestrian. My inlaws both got the filet. Both were cooked to order but also nothing to rave about. The best part of the meal was the fries that came with my sons meal. All in all a $300 disappointment.
I’ve been to a few different Ruth’s Chris and have to say this was one of my better experiences. The food was excellent as usual as was the service. It’s obviously on the higher price scale but they made it worth it, especially compared to other upscale restaurants in Pittsburgh.
Expensive but great food and service!!. My wife and I came here for an anniversary dinner once. I found a small piece of plastic in my piece of steak, and told the waitress. The manager came out, apologized, and told me that they would take care of it…so I assumed it was going to be like a free desert or something stupid like a coupon. Turns out that wasn’t the case at all. We got a porterhouse for two and they took that whole entree off the bill!! So I can’t complain at all. We had a great time and got $100 taken off the bill for a piece of plastic that probably just accidentally got cut into my steak when they cut it out of the plastic. We had a great time and the staff was extremely pleasant.
Came with a party of seven an we were served raw chicken! Also a rare steak wen I asked for med, took it back and it came out still very red.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. We really enjoyed the food and the service! My boyfriend had steak (of course) and I had scallops; both were amazing! We also had the crab cakes for an appetizer which I thought were good, but over priced considering there were only two small crab cakes to share. The southwestern mac n cheese is to die for. It was very expensive! But truly worth the money and I know we will be back for another special occasion!
Not memorable. And for the price… I expect it to be. I have coworkers and the like who love to go here though.
So not worth it. Had dinner here on 7/20. We had reservations at 7 and were seated right at the entrance to the restaurant — not a very desirable table, but I guess someone has to sit there. My husband and I both ordered fillets– his was $40 and mine was $35 (a la carte). Both steaks were chewy and really mediocre at best. The Lyonnaise potatoes were not as good as you would get at any local breakfast dive. They lacked any flavor at all. The worst part about our experience was the apparent rush to get us in and out. I understand the desire to accommodate the theater crowd–but we were not going to a show. And when you are spending $150+ on a meal, it is distasteful to be rushed out of your seat. Overall a very disappointing experience. I would have shared this with our server at the end of our meal— but he never bothered to ask.
