Quick, easy and great food!. I have eaten at Sal’s seven or eight times and have always been very happy with the food and service. The menu is a little more cafe style, with soups salads sandwiches and desserts…oh, and beer and wine. Great place for a medium work lunch with coworkers, clients or vendors. I usually choose a salad, soup or a beef on wecht sandwich. And the home made potato chips are simply excellent. This place reminds me a little of the old-school deli places that still exist, but it has been completely reimagined and updated to fit today’s tastes. I don’t think you cna go wrong eating here. I never have.
LOVE SALS. I love sals! I work downtown and when I don’t know where to go to eat, I always end up at sals. They are always friendly and the food is fantastic! Best and freshest around.
A mistake?. I ordered the Blackened Chicken Sandwich and received a tender tasty piece of chicken that tasted like it hadn’t been seasoned at all? I asked the waitress if she heard me say blackened and she confirmed she did. Cajun blackened is usually among the spiciest foods I eat, but not this time, very bland. I have to believe the cook made a mistake because there is no way you could serve this and call it blackened with out getting complaints every time.
Who is VIP?. I’m writing this review after leaving the restaurant without being seated. I have visited Sal’s on multiple occasions which apparently is not enough after today’s visit. The hostess advised my friend the wait would be 10-15 minutes as there were three tables ahead of us. As parties left, people were seated in order of arrival. We were waiting approximately 20 minutes as the table to be seated next when two ladies came in. A gentlemen who I assume was in a supervisory role signaled to the woman behind us asking how many people. She nodded two and was immediately told to follow him for a table. They were seated in front of us. Side note – all of their tables are at least four seaters so party size was not the issue. Apparently if you visit often enough you get VIP treatment when there is a wait. Ridiculous!
The grilled chicken aioli and home made chips are my favorite! I’m also a fan of the soups. The cream soups are my favorite but the chicken noodle is to die for!!The manager personally visited our table. Nice touch!!A+!
Good service. Bit pricey for food quality.. Went to Sal’s for Lunch and got the Grilled Chicken Aioli sandwich. The service was fast and friendly. The food was OK and rather simple – the price was a little high for the quality of food. The chips tasted stale.
Amazing. Sal’s was a great place. They offered great service, were friendly and the servers were always smiling. Everything was perfect.
