Disappointed. There’s Always Cake, Though……. The mushroom sandwich was very average. Served with ho hum fries. Server forgot and forgot again my drink. Lettuce for salad was unwashed and gritty and not with the dressing I ordered. A real disappointment. The chocolate cake and ice cream were excellent though. Both homemade and great. So it wasn’t all bad but I’d go here for desserts only at this point. My first and probably last visit.
Good food and good service. Better to eat at the bar in the lobby than in the restaurant. Recommend the Caesar salad and bison burgers. Chefs pasta at lunch time is a fantastic deal. Very good

Had dinner before a concert and it was wonderful…the short ribs were to die for and our waitress, Jamie, was beyond good. She had a very good knowledge of the menu choices. I would not hesitate to recommed.
Don’t go on an Event Day!. Don’t go to the Steelhead on an event night. They have a limited menu in their dining room and an even more limited menu in their lounge/bar. The bar menu is pretty much a fast food menu and of poor quality. When you call for reservations and information you are not informed of the limited menu on event night. And don’t plan on having a leaisurely dining experience. On event night volume and turnover is the goal of the night, they don’t care about customer service, the manager will actually laugh at you when you make your disappointment known to him. They are not set up to serve their regular menu on high volume nights. I guess with so many sporting, theater and other events in the city they seldom serve from their full regular menu. If you happen to visit their website and think they will have a fantastic wine and drink menu. All I can say is think again. Bad wine list and no drink menu. Save your money and make plans to visit one of the fine dining establishments in Pittsburgh, there are many but the Steelhead is not one of them.
Overpriced hotel food. I’ve always wanted to try this restaurant and finally had the opportunity to do so recently. Unfortunately, my first time at this restaurant will also be my last. Essentially, it’s glorified hotel food–yes, better than some, but defiintely not memorable. The atmosphere/decor was sterile at best. The server had virtually no knowledge of the menu or the specials. It was primetime weekend dining, and only two table (including ours) were occupied. If you’re staying at the hotel with no transportation, this is an ok dining option. However, I would recommend going elsewhere.
Event Buffet is AWESOME!. Had dinner here before the Pens Game tonite. For $16 you get the Appetizer Bar and Pasta Bar. There was pasta marinara and pasta alfredo, mussels, clams, ceasar salad, spring mix salad, cold mushroom salad, orzo salad, fruit and chili. Bread was brought to the table as well.
