Diamond in the Rough!. My husband and I were visiting Erie for the week and had restaurant.com vouchers to several different places. Latinos was by far the BEST meal all week! I’ll even go so far as to say that this was one of the best meals we’ve had EVER!!! From the moment we walked in to the beautifully decorated restaurant we were made to feel at home. This place is the complete package! Julio, our server (also the owner), answered any questions that we had about the AUTHENTIC menu items. This is not Taco Bell or your usual Tex Mex eatery… this is real Mexican food, FRESH imported ingredients and food that is clearly cooked with love! We enjoyed EVERY bite of food that passed our lips and we loved the suggestions from Julio about the proper combinations and garnishes. Aside from the AMAZING food, Julio had such obvious pride in his restaurant and it was truly refreshing to see an owner who cares SO much. We didn’t meet the cook (his mother) but a big THANK YOU goes out to her as well… WOW!!! I could go on and on… the main thing I want readers to get from this review is that you will NOT be disappointed! Don’t let the plain exterior deter you… this is a true diamond in the rough!

We love this place. My wife and I love Latino’s Restaurant. It is like eating at a friends house. The service is excellent, the food ranks in comparison with the finest restaurants that we have eaten at around the world. Since our first visit I think I have always had one of the daily specials. It is priced higher than other mexican family restaurants in the area but the food is well worth the premium. We have introduced several friends to Latino’s and they all have returned.Try it, you will not regret it!

Mediocre. My husband and I ate there a few months ago and while my meal was rather good, my husband’s was awful. It was some pork dish with green sauce. It was terribly dry and had no taste. The owner never stopped talking. We were so grateful when another couple came in about 2/3 of the way through our meal so that we could have our own conversation rather than being completely consumed by the owner’s conversation. I wound up drinking water b/c I don’t drink beer and their mixed drinks are so outrageously priced. Finally, I’m a girl with a small appetite and generally bring home more than half of my meal when we go out to eat. I was still starving by the time we left Latino’s. We stopped at a fast food place on the way home. The prices are far to high for the food, and while the quality may be high b/c it’s shipped in from everywhere, the prices are still too high for the quantity.

Not Worth It. This was perhaps one of our most disappointing restaurant experiences in Erie. We sat at the bar. The owner dominated our entire evening, (wouldn’t leave us alone). The appetizer, while delicious, a very small plate of sauteed onions with melted cheese and 4 small tortillas (and I mean small) was $10. Beer was only in bottles, and priced higher than the standard. Coke, from a 16 oz. bottle was $2.50. Why should someone pay extra for a coke, just for sitting at their bar? We will never go back, and we do not recommend it to anyone. Asthetically, it was disquieting. Mexican art is easy enough to acquire- I wish they’d had more, and better quality.

AWEsome Food. The food is spectacular!!!! I’ve been here twice and have been blown away by my entree! Their margarita’s are killer and their salsa is spicy but delicioso! The owner is very cordial and inviting. He is willing to explain anything that’s on the menu to you if you are unsure. Once you eat here, you’ll never look at mexican restaurants the same. Seriously.
