I love the originality of the food. The portions are generous and quite tasty. The decor is kitzy and certainly old style, but I believe it is clean. …

Stay away…. I write many reviews as to where i eat. I always discuss the problem with the owner and allow for a ample response. I recently ate here and ordered there banana bread french toast. I ate 2 bites and notified the server that this was not to my liking…only one side dipped, no powered sugar or butter. I felt like he could have cared less. He did nothing to make my order right…didn’t take anything off the bill ..etc. I contacted him through email at his restaurant and gave him ample time to respond. Please my G.E co workers and people of Erie, there are better places in town to spend your money. I hope he gets his act together..Tom Swanson

We love this place for breakfast. I imagine it is a matter of taste whether you will like it. Very kitschy, and clearly a throw-back to an earlier era. I think the prices are good for the portions, and no where has the variety breakfast options.
Good service. Fresh menu. MED WRAP homemade. Potato leek soup homemade and authtic. Great for breakfast and brunch.
Went here with my fiance, we showed up at about 1:30 p.m. Even though they close at 2pm obviously 1:30 is way too late to get good service. I asked to try some of the special pepper jelly they were offering on the menu and he told me it was already closed?(Come back another time I want to leave) Sounds ridiculous but I’m not even kidding. Other than that food is pretty good I’ve been there a few times but I’d much rather prefer other places in town. As Justin says in his review, the furniture and floor is dirty looking.
Great Dinner Specials. The Zodiac is now open for dinner 5-9 PM on Wed,Thur and Fri. There is a 2 For $20 Special that includes salad, entree, potato, veggies and dessert The salad was tremendous! Salad featured lettuce, red cabbage, onions, fresh mushrooms ,green pepper and home-made croutons I had 2 Filets wrapped in bacon, baked potato, mixed fresh veggies and peanut butter pie. My steak was done to perfection., as was the baked potato and veggies. Sujayne had Chicken Alfredo. The chicken was plentiful and moist and a great sauce, Rick had the Pork Filets, which were tender, moist and tasted great. His mother had meatloaf which was great. IMO meatloaf is great or bad,no middle ground. This was great! The Peanut Butter Pie and Carrot cake were yummy!!! I can’t wait to go back and try other items from this 2 for $20 menu. The waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and prompt, What more do you need from the wait staff?
Our Regular Breakfast Spot. Zodiac is like a favorite blanket. It’s comfotable warm and a little won around the edges. While Taki’s and the Breakfast Place may save you a dollar on eggs, they lack the kitsch and friendliness of the Zodiac. Trust me, I undestand the value you can get at the other joints, and maybe they save a dollar on a plate. The other side of the equation is the sterile atmosphere and their rush to turn over tables. I go to breakfast to relax and talk. that’s what I like about the Zodiac (and Malena’s too) – good food, good sevice, good value-no rush. In the end, I think it’s a matter of preference; there’s just not that much difference in money.
