If you like pecans this is the place to go. It seemed that the majors of the dishes had pecans. I ordered the fish of the day that had pecan butter. What I got was fish with a mountain of pecans on top. The crab bisque was delicious but the rest was too sweet or had off flavors. Not what I expected from a southern tableand I travel and dine in the southeast often for work. Also the biscuits were hard, dry and over cooked. I do not think I will return.
Had lunch this past weekend. Disappointed that the lobster salad has been removed from the menu. Ordered the fish tacos – very satisfying! Looking forward to the updated menu.30 Dec, 2012Delicious! Fresh! Comfortable!. Everyone has an opinion… here is mine: My wife and I have had very pleasant lunch experiences at Gigis several times during the last 6 months of 2012. Last evening we had reservations for dinner. The crowd was minimal in the dining area. I ordered Gigi’s Lobster Salad (with added prawns) as my entree absolutely delicious: each of the salad components tasted wonderful and the added shrimp was the right option I plan to order this salad at my next visit. My wife ordered the Pistachio-Crusted Sea Bass absolutely delicious: her frame of reference was Joes (Vegas) Chilean Sea Bass a few days earlier – sadly, the waiter informed us that the menus were going to be updated and this item would most likely be removed. The staff was pleasant and attentive we never felt rushed and totally enjoyed the comfortable two hour dining experience.
Great atmosphere, lacking in other areas. Service is lacking. Hostess did not even greet or look up while typingaway, good 3-4 minutes. Didn’t say anything when she seated us, very unhospitable.Noise in bar area is pretty obnoxious if you are eating dinner.Food was Ok, not great. Bread served with bruschetta was not best choice, it was a sweet crumbly bread. Same goes for fondue. Instead of small dipping chunks, it was slices of the sweet bread which disintegrated when dipped. Large chunks of carrot and celery and a lone salami slice would have been better chunked and served with spears.Waiter was over taxed with a group away from our seating, he had trouble keeping up.He was very pleasant and tried hard. Servers who brought out food and cleared plates need some hospitality training.Loved the decor and furniture.
Monte Cristo. Very delicious sandwich with gruyere cheese & ham on thick, fresh bread dipped in creme brulee. It’s filling but totally worth it!
