WOW!!!! Great breakfast, blueberry pancakes and eggs Benedict truly worth waiting in line for. You know it must be good when people are standing in line with umbrellas in hand. Once you get inside it quick and friendly. Whom ever picked up our check I thank you very much!!!! It was great.
Just ok. Was there early on a wed morning so not to crowded but waited 25 min for a waitress. She was sweet when she finally arrived but the food was mediocre at best. If it’s just large amounts your looking food then it’s the place for you but nothing I’d write home about
I love it! To all those people with the negative reviews, you people are those people that can never be pleased and complaining is the only thing that reminds you that you’re alive! This place has the best breakfast hands down for 50 miles and the absolute BEST service for the style of dining. I waited tables for over 10 years in NYC, Philadelphia, and Atlanta, and have never had casual breakfast service as good! You’ll never have to ASK for a coffee refill and they bend over backwards to accommodate you. As for the prices, you could have slapped me with a wet fish when I first are here! As for the lines, that’s a good thing. Stop being a diva! They’re AWESOME!
Good Diner in State College. Good breakfasts are hard to come by…but the waffle shop has it down….good food, good service, good diner atmosphere! This is not a fancy restaurant it’s a diner and they do it well.
THE WAY to run a breakfast place. All of the locations of the Waffle Shop are well run with excellent staff. Food is fresh and arrives quickly, coffee and water service come by regularly, and prices are reasonable. I think the high standards here have given me a very low tolerance slower breakfast restaurants–the Waffle Shop sets the standard.
Underwhelmed. I’m pretty surprised at all of the hype about the waffle shop. It’s a decent breakfast, but I didn’t think it was anything to write home about. We didn’t wait in any lines the day we were there, but I can say with certainty that I would not be one of those people waiting in line. It was a little pricier than it should be, and our breakfasts were really just fine, but nothing more.
Enjoyed the experience. I am very hard to satisfy. Have had years of experience in restaurants and kitchens and know good food. This is a GREAT place for a good, solid breakfast. The service was good, food in the morning hit the spot, and prices were right. Does it deserve a culinary award for excellance….no……but it is certainly a great breakfast spot. The long lines certainly give testiment to the taste and value.
