I’ve been to Big Jim’s many times and it never disappoints. You can either eat in the bar area, or the side room. I’ve seen families with kids, so that’s no problem. To be clear, this is a unfancy bar that sells great food. They have a pretty big menu with bar type finger foods, sandwiches, soups and full entrees. The portions are large and the prices extremely fair. Everything I’ve had is good. On my latest visit I had the Two Bill Sandwich – I’ve had it before and it’s always good. Grilled marble rye with corned beef, swiss, coleslaw and a fried egg in between. It’s a great sandwich. Also had good old fashioned breaded mushrooms and homemade weddings ng soup. This place is a sure bet for casual food and a beer. Totally recommend.

Wonderful restaurant. We ate at Big Jim’s 1/30/2015. Three of us had the 10 oz. Steak. Best flavorful, tender steak we have ever had. My husband had the Sausage and really liked it. Service was excellent. The dinner salad was huge and very fresh vegetables. The place was packed, they sure are doing something right! We will absolutely go back. Supporting locally own businesses is a great feeling. Gary – Jenny Wescoat Keith will be back for good food!

I used to live up the street, so I would get their awesome calzones and pretty decent fish sandwiches. Recently, decided to get a fish sandwich to go. Started eating when I got home and it was a disgusting, undercooked mess. I was so disappointed that I haven’t been back since. I don’t want this one experience to dissuade others to try Big Jim’s food, but in a city with so many great restaurants, one slip up can cost you a long time customer.

Don’t hate but not great. Dirty waitress was worried more about the talk on TV than us she even told a customer to move down if he wanted to watch sports on the TV with sound off food was ok nothing special or that big as we were told and very expensive 40 dollars for a steak hoagie a Ruben fries and 2 beers also the restrooms were horrible
