the family went to Ryan’s in Hanover last night. My son was eating a piece of carrot cake when we found a long green almost rubbery piece in the cake, i pulled it out and it was about 2 inches long. I took it to the bakery part, where the young lady was very nice. She told me that she though it could be a green piece of shredded carrot and that she would show it to the manager, about 5 minutes later she returned and told me the manager tried eating it and that it had no flavor, so uh i was confused and maybe it was said carrot, but the management should have told me this themselves, i was not rude about it by any means. This just shows lack of management skills. I will not be returning to this establishment.

Yuk!. We have been to Ryan’s in Johnstown, PA, N. Austin, TX (this one closed, no surprise), Chambersburg, PA and Hanover, PA.To sum up all of the ones I have been to, DON’T GO!The food is not good, the service is terrible and we just will not go to any more of the Ryan’s restaurants.Well, we went back to try breakfast. Bathrroms were filthy, food was not cooked properly. Servers wer wearing dirty clothing. But worst of all, the people preparing the food were not wearing gloves and handled the food improperly.
Poor selection. Dingy, and don’t even ask about the restrooms! No wonder Ryan’s and Old Country Buffet are in financial trouble.
I wish my kid did not like this place because it is aweful. We have had the pleasure to sit by amazing individuals who’s vacobulary cannot expand pass four word profanity uttered every other word. Not to mention having to watch people think that it is a eating race and/or their last meal. Their food is slop and is intermixed from being an unclean buffet. When asked for the beef medium rare I was given a piece of mostly fat that was perfectly seared to well done. After the third try to get medium rare I went back for salad since this was the only food they couldn’t mess up.
