Great idea, good execution. I’m very pleased I ventured out on a misty/rainy night to this quaint little spot. The staff was very attentive (not overly so) and friendly. I loved their pumpkin old fashion cocktail!! Nonetheless, I had only one. The deviled egg app was good and the trio selection added a nice flair of variety. The pork entre was a wonderful savory-sweet combo with nice presentation and perfect portion size (which for me tends to lean toward a more ample selection than is probably appropriate – ED&BM!). The chia tea ice cream was interesting (odd), but I could probably become a fan with a bit more exposure. The wine list was small, but looked interesting rather than an after-thought to accommodate. Definitely worth a re-visit.

First Time Visiting. We are local foodies and have not been to Home 231 before. On arrival we were seated quickly and with no fuss in this small but cute atmospheric eatery. The waiter was very good and tried to please at all times with out being over bearing. He was keen to learn about beers as well as offer his advice on wines (which he admitted he was getting to grips with as well). The three of us were not overly hungry and found the menu delightful, interesting and well balanced. We all ordered various items from the menu that were served efficiently with hot meals. Our waiter was tending another table and rather than leave our food on the pass, the expediter brought the meals out. A very professional touch that was noted. The bill for the three of us was extremely reasonable and we were not hurried out because the table was required for a quick spin of customers. We will be delighted to go back again and sample this fresh and vibrant menu once more. One note of caution though! If you are going to Home 231 to have diner size portions and want to eat as much as you can for as little as price as possible, go some place else. This is most definitely a restaurant for those that enjoy excellent local produced ingredients and well cooked with finesse food.

Great Food, Snotty Bartender!. Food is incredible. Been there half a dozen times. Bartender Abby got very snooty the last time, like if you ask her for anything special–like a cocktail napkin! Don’t mind paying a premium for good drinks, but lose the attitude, honey! You just pour the stuff, you didn’t invent it!! Won’t be back!

One of the worst dining experiences of my life. When my husband was asked to take off his hat before we were seated I assumed the restaurant had some class. The management proceeded to allow a drunken clan of 8 customers ruin the evening for the rest of their customers. This was supposed to be a special night out but I could not even hear my husband speak. Avoid Hone 231 unless you want a frat party!

OVERRATED. We had reservations for my b-day, very excited to try this place after all hearing good things. They sat us directly next to hostess station. We had to listen to the waitstaff and the phone ring, oh did I mention the office door was right there too, and that it squeaked every time it opened, which was every 5 minutes?!?! The food was flavorless, tomato and mozzarella salad, not enough vinegar and tomatoes underripe yet smooshy. Fish and chips, no flavor. Hangar steak frittes, just ok. Tips for management: 1. put a barrier of some sort between hostess station and table 2. if someone makes a reservation don’t give walk in customers better seating, just saying, it’s rude.
