Unfriendly and Bland. I used to like it here, but recently the staff are unfriendly and the food is bland and looks to be of poor quality.
I have been going to Cozumel for at least 15 years, since they opened. I would the food has declined the last 3 years or so but my visit last week was teheran absolute worst. I won’t be back. The lettuce is always brown, the guacamole always terrible. The food is mediocre at best. So over it.
Way too bland to be called Mexican. We started with the cheese dip which had no flavor to it. Then we got the enchiladas. The beef enchilada was just plain unflavored ground beef. The cheese enchilada used the cheese dip. The bean enchilada didn’t even use whole beans but instead refried beans which were bland. The chicken enchilada had a little more flavor with shredded chicken with sauteed green bell pepper and onion except it was very dry. All of the enchiladas were covered in what tasted like a canned enchilada sauce. The tamale had very little meat in it. It was covered with the ground meat and beans. Our waiter was very attentive. I will not be going back as it was just way too bland. When I go to a Mexican restaurant, I expect lots of flavor in my food.
Service is very poor, but food is good. Very nice atmosphere and the food is good — not great — but pretty consistent. The service is so bad that I no longer recommend this restaurant, especially for dinner. I would still consider going at lunch, but Casa Chapala is a much better choice for dinner.
Underwhelming…. I have eaten at Cozumel many times because I had no other choice for Mex food in Greensburg. I’m originally from San Antonio TX so I know a thing about good Mex food. I have found the food at Cozumel to be very bland, the decor dated, and the service very unfriendly…not rude…just not friendly. The senorita at the cash register is hardly a gracious and engaged host…but more like a gatekeeper with all the personality of a prison guard. I’ve always had this undercurrent of a feeling at Cozumel: they are more interested in extracting $30 bucks out of me …and less interested in providing delicious food in a satisfying dining experience.I think most folks here like Cozumel because they simply haven’t had the opportunity to experience what great cuisine Mexican food can be. Keep trying Cozumel…focus on the food first…and be friendly!
Solid Mexican Food. Good food. Large portions. Great value.
Cozumel is a great place and their food is awesome. You have to try their flan.
