Love Cozumel’s!. My family has been going to Cozumel’s for 20 years-ever since I was a teenager. I love the food and the atmosphere. The owners are hard-working and friendly. The food is consistent, and I have never had a bad meal. My all-time favorite dish is the Pollo Fundido.
I have been going to Cozumel since they opened over 15 years ago. It has really declined in the last few years and my last 5 or so meals there were terrible. Just the other day I had the seafood quesadilla and it was just gross. It was imitation crab, a huge amount and looked brown. The guacamole was terrible, old and brown. It was just subpar. Disappointed.
Decent Food. To put it simply, the food is adequate but nothing over the top. Since we do not have all that many choices for good Mexican food here in the outlying Pittsburgh area you will find this to fit the bill. Nothing is oversalted. I have to admit when I leave here I don’t feel sluggish or have a headache from eating food high in sodium. The chicken is not as tender or as flavorful as I have had in other cities while traveling the United States. I never had a problem with the service here; consistent, fast and friendly. We always use a coupon from either the Enjoyment or the Entertainment books otherwise I doubt we would frequent it as much. A good place to stop on the way home from a day at Idlewild Park.
It’s not bad. You’re not gonna get superior quality mexican food here but it isn’t bad. price was good and i liked the atmosphere. nothing to really complain about but nothing to get all excited about either
A really bad meal…. A group of 4 of us went on Saturday night for dinner. The service and the price was fantastic, and the $20 pitcher of margaritas is a fantastic deal. The food, however, was really, really bad. I had the carnitas, which is supposed to be roasted, shredded pork in a spicy tomato sauce. What I received was about 10-15 pieces of jerky like pork tenderloin with no sauce. It was so dry I could barely eat it. Even after unsing it to make a taco and slathering it in all the fixins it was barely edible. It really seemed like it was made days in advance and was sitting around waiting for some unlucky person to order it. Everyone else in our party said their food was pretty tasteless as well. The portion size is also a bit rediculous. Everything is served on plates the size of a keyboard and whatever space is not taken up by your buritto, taco, enchilada, whatever you order, is filled in by massive amounts of tasteless beans and rice. Overall I’d say come in for some margaritas and great chips and salsa, then have dinner elsewhere.
