Not gluten free friendly. This place only offers gluten free pizza, ribs , or crab cakes and thats it. Our waitress couldn’t even find out if the tortilla chips they serve are gluten free, she said I think they are made of corn. I could not trust that cheese on pizza was gluten free because they are not educated on this topic. I also asked if tartar sauce was gluten free, I just asked to see the bottle but she refused.How would most of the public feel if you went to lunch and had only three options a dry crab cake with nothing with it, etc…. Just don’t claim your gluten free if your not. My friend that usually goes there called the day before to make sure they had options for me but we left and had our time waisted. On top of it all the waitress acted like I was a huge pain in the ass. Sorry I don’t want to have a reaction to your food I have celiac disease. We went to The Perk in Perkasie instead, they are at least making an effort to accommodate me and they are just a little place in the country just like you, Hawkeyes.
We ate here on 6/5/2012 – husband had mushroom appetizer, nothing like it was described as not over stuff and tasted horrible. he had the swordfish with rice and green beans, he said the only thing good about his entire dinner was the green beans.I ordered a pizza burger and fries, the burger tasted like a piece of cardboard and had no flavor, the fries were good but cold, and the icing on the cake was we were seated in the bar area and it was loud and had a few drunks and were loud and cursing at the baseball game…. this was a total turn off and we will never set foot in this place again.
No longer a regular customer. I used to be a regular customer at Hawkeye’s, but that has changed since my last visit about a month ago, when I had a server who was disrespectful and inappropriate. I wrote the owner a letter informing him of my experience, but I received no response. I will not be going back there anymore. There are plenty of other good restaurants in the area.
Very good weekly family spot. Okay, so I heard everyone talking about this place. My wife and I made a reservation for one of the TV booths with my 5 year old daughter. Hostess was friendly and sat us on time. I was worried about the TV’s being intrusive, but they are small and done tastefully. The decor was modern but cozy at the same time. The bar area was totally seperate from Dining area, so families don’t have to deal with bar crown if they so choose. Our waiter was good and attentive even though the room was busy. Our appetizers came and were fantastic. Spinach and artichoke dip was one of the better versions I’ve had, although I agree with the other reviewer that the chips were a bit heavy and bland. I had the wedge salad which was good but loved my wife’s ceaser salad. Well made and great dressing.Entree’s were the star. I had the Ribeye steak which was perfectly done, huge and dressed with wonderful mashed potatoes and greenbeans. Well worth the 18 bucks it cost. One small complaint is that the food came out TOO fast. Timing was a bit off. However, this is quickly becoming a favorite spot of ours. Value is wonderful, service is quick and friendly and the food is well above average for the price. Highly recommended.
Really good food. Great brick oven pizza and burgers The nachos are a great appetizer with a large portion. The kids menu is not listed ..you have to ask. Often a wait at peak times Who doesn’t like to watch TV when eating?
Food at hawkeyes is always good. It’s kid friendly with tv’s in there booths. Prices are reasonable as well.
