Love the atmosphere, a classy yet laid back crowd. Got an appetizer (Brussels sprouts – SO good!), salad, and burger. The burger was super thick and cooked well. My family got the fish and chips, and the crab cakes, both of which got positive reviews. I would definitely recommend giving it a try! A little on the pricy side but not crazy.
Check your credit card. Went to Iron Abbey last month with a large group. When I got my credit card bill I had been overcharged by $2.00. I had left a 20% tip so I know it wasn’t because of a minimum charge. Recommend paying in cash.
Great service, Great beer, Bad Food. With three meat eaters and a vegan, it was hard to decide on a place to go for dinner, so upon seeing that Iron Abbey offered a vegan menu, it was settled. We were seated quickly and all ordered drinks, the waitress was super helpful with beer suggestions. Upon seeing the vegan menu, the person in our group who was vegan was extremely disappointed. It was just all of the vegan friendly entrees from the menu reprinted onto another piece of paper, less than 5 items were actual entrees. We also ordered chorizo, a panini and a burger. The food came out and the vegan plate had meat on it, but the waitress fixed it promptly and they even gave us a free drink. The situation was handled wonderfully. If only the food was as good as the service we received. Despite being a place known for excellent meat, the beef on the panini was less than spectacular, and my medium rare burger was raw and inedible. The only person who truly enjoyed their meal was the person who ordered the chorizo, which was apparently spectacular. I might go back again for drinks and appetizers, but never for dinner.
Beer selection phenom. Had Russian River IPA. Wings were really good…not for sauce but crispy texture. Portuguese burger rocked…Kobe beef, Serrano ham and chorizo. Very good. Last, loved server…nice work Iron Abbey, a big impr from a visit one year ago!
Family burger time. This place had great burgers (although it’s been a year since I’ve been there). Great pub atmosphere- lively, but not too wild- can bring the kids.
Unbelievable. I moved to Northern Liberties last summer, but am a Bucks County native. I moved to the city wanting more of a city-slicker way of living with more options, moreso in terms of bars and places to grab some grub. Now I visit home more often, inviting my dad and needing an excuse to come back to the Abbey. The last time I was able to make it up there was for the Dogfish Beer Dinner. I’m on their mailing list and i def couldn’t pass up some Bitches Brew. Familiar with their entire menu, going to the beer dinners is pretty cool, the cooks in the kitchen, definitely belong their because not everyone can pair chocolate, venison and a stout with ease. So my hats off to you, Iron Abbey. p.s.- MOVE TO THE CITY. Thanks, Jake.
Well Worth Checking Out. Friendly atmosphere – phenomenal Beer selection and food was to die for (I had the original sin (sandwich)). I travel the country and this place is Top 5 of what I have come across so far.The only thing missing were bartenders wearing traditional Monk’s Robes! If you find yourself in the Horsham, PA area, this is a MUST stop!
