My wife and I recently had diner at this establishment. We had been to their older restaurant and we liked it but our most recent visit was a let down. I had ordered the Sampler Plate and the penne, chicken parmigiana, and lasagna all tasted as if it we pre-frozen and heated up. The tomato sauce was uninspiring. The server, though attentive, was unknowledgeable as to ingredients and preparation of the foods when asked. The bread was uninspiring and tasted as if the local grocery baked it. When served our salads and meals were served, there were no offers of ground black pepper, (My wife had to explain it to the server.), red pepper flakes or grated cheese. We were very disappointed in our diner.
A LOCAL FAVORITE. So glad to have this restaurant in our community. It would line up easily against the heavy hitters in Pittsburgh. Donatello’s caters to everyone – those looking for Americanized Italian such as Lasagna or those looking for something a bit more upscale such as Pork Osso Bucco. Although they have a small dining room, they have a full bar. I would suggest reservations, especially on weekends. And if you’re planning on hanging out for awhile, make your reservation later so they don’t need the table.
I come from a huge Italian family that love to eat out at restaurants, this being my second time to donatellos I am overly impressed on their quality of food and service. I recommend it to everybody, family owned and operated!
If you’re looking for a nice place to eat in Indiana, look no further. Donatello’s is a little pricey but totally worth it. My fiance had the butternut squash ravioli special and I had the blackened ahi tuna. Both dishes were absolutely phenomenal. It was a fantastic dining experience.
Good quality. The quality of food here is really good, especially for the area it’s in.I have yet to find a restaurant in Indiana that even approaches the quality of food of Donatello’s.The atmosphere is really nice and I’ve had good experience with the waiters there. The pricing is probably a little high for what you get, but the lack of comparable alternative and main street location is the reasonable culprit. If you’re concerned about price and want a good meal, go during lunch. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed.
