My brother and I stopped in here for lunch recently and I have to say I really enjoyed visit. This was my first visit to La Verona, and really the first time I’ve stepped into the building since it was Newton’s a number of years back. There’s three tables up by the front window and we were seated in the middle one. Our server provided menus and we placed a drink order. We were both pretty hungry and each of us ordered an appetizer. I selected the Tomato Bruschetta for my app and a personal pizza as my entree. My brother ordered the Fried Mozzarella and Chicken Parmesan. It wasn’t long before the apps arrived. They were beautiful, and it was almost a shame to eat them. Almost. The Fried Mozzarella looked almost like a hash brown and was served with a heirloom tomato jam and a balsamic glaze. I had never seen Fried Mozzarella served that way before however it was quite tasty, especially the balsamic glaze which gave it a little kick. Likewise the Tomato Bruschetta looked just as good and didn’t last long either. Finally our entree’s arrived and they were excellent. My pizza was basically a personal pizza that was about 10 inches across. The pizza was delicious with a very fresh thin and crispy dough and It had pepperoni, aged beef gorgonzola cheese and roasted garlic. My brothers Chicken Parmesan meal filled almost his entire platter and the chicken itself was surrounded completely in cheese. Portions were perfect and we left knowing we’ll be back again. Check them out if you’re looking for some Italian. They can be found right in the heart of Kennett.

Roasted artichokes were delicious but my chicken piccata was borderline inedible. How do u mess up chicken? It was so chewy. It was lunch so I ordered a chicken sandwich for my husband to go and he said the same thing – chicken was tough and chewy.

A Pleasant Surprise!. We stumbled upon La Verona one rainy winter night about 9pm. The place was empty so we hesitated but the weather was raw so we ducked inside and decided to give it a try. What a fantastic experience we had. The service was perfect, which can go either way when you are the only customers in a restaurant. We were not over attended to nor did we feel neglected. We stayed longer than we should have considering the owner and waiter would probably have left for home much earlier had we not shown up at their door, but they never made us feel rushed. The food was awesome. Every course was better than the last. We ate far more(and drank from the great wine list far more) than we planned but were so comfortable and satisfied it was hard to leave. I don’t ever remember wishing more for the owner of a restaurant that their tables would fill with customers thus securing a long stay at their present location. Returned for Easter Brunch. Again, the tables were mostly empty which baffles me because my entire family had another great experience of excellent service, delicious food at reasonable prices. Please give it a try! These guys deserve it and you will not be disappointed!

We’ve had 3 very nice dinners here and love the outdoor seating. We want to try other restaurants but we’ve never been the least bit disappointed with anything. Food is great and the service is excellent. The price is very reasonable for such good food. If it were in Philly entrees would be near $30.
