Fresh homemade food. We had all you can eat crab-legs which came with a corn on the cob and home fries. The crab was hot and moist. My friends had ahi tuna sandwich and pulled pork, they said it was very good. Nice atmosphere with a juke box for your favorite tunes.
Don’t go here for lunch. Went here for lunch today and had horrible service. We waited 20 minutes after our order was taken and the waiter came back to tell us our order didn’t make it from the computer to the kitchen. We waited another 20 minutes for the food to come. There were two of us and we were the only ones in the dining roomI had to pay extra for a small salad because my AHI Tuna only came with French Fries. The Tuna was on a roll and smothered with what tasted like BBQ sauce. UGH.This small lunch with iced tea cost $20.I gave the waiter a credit card and he said it was declined. Tried with another card with the same result. There were no outstanding balances on either card and it turns out that the waiter didn’t know how to operate the credit card reader. Staff made no apologies. If you want comic relief and bad food and service then this is your place.
Food was poor quality and very over cooked. The staff was more concerned about discussing the hockey game than waiting on us. Will probably be closed before the end of the year.
Slam Dunk!. My Wife planned a surprise dinner here on 3/22/13 for my birthday. I had mentioned I wanted go after seeing an article on Lancaster Online. What a great experience! From ease with online reservation, prompt friendly service to the tasty and big portions, I’d highly recommend this new place. I got the French Burger with garlic Parmesan fries. Burger being dipped in au jus with those fries…amazing! My Wife got the Classic Burger with sweet potato fries and loved it. Then came desert…fried Snickers. We were blown away with the portion size and taste. Great first impression. Thanks for adding another place that people can come to and enjoy the City of Lancaster!
Delicoius. 551 West is tucked into a neat little corner of paradise. The paradise can be found inside the restaurant with the food. When we placed our ordered we tried the crab bisque and it didn’t disappoint. The sandwiches that we order were hot and delicious. So many times you get a great sandwich and it it is smaller than your fist. Joey Chestnut would have been defeated with the amount of food that you get with this order. The sweet potato fries were caramelized and tasted like candy. The garlic parmesan fries were heavy on the garlic and were delicious down to the last fry, Overall our experience was great. Thanks again to the 551 family who have provided a great Lancaster restaurant for all us to enjoy.
Pretty good neighborhood bar. Stopped into this place the friday afternoon after Thanksgiving with a few out-of-town friends and sat at the bar. Nice rotating tap variety including (when I was there) Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald and Dogfish 90-minute among many others. Bartender was friendly, attentive, and not un-knowledgeable.Just had a burger and garlic fries, which were both tasty. Beers started at $5, so it’s not cheap, but it’s the only place I know in the West End with a good beer selection, so it’s great to have them here.
