WOW! What a great restaurant! The moment you walk in the aroma of the food lets you know you are in for something special. If you have never tried Ethiopian food, it is a unique experience. They take familiar ingredients like bread, beef, chicken, carrots, green beans, and potatoes, and create one of the most flavorful meals you have ever tried. If you like your food spicy you can order it hot, mild, or anywhere in between. While the food is rich with flavor, it is NOT hot unless you want it to be.If you have never tried Ethiopian food before I recommend one of the combination entrees. It gives you a wonderful introduction to the different flavors. Even though I have been many times, I often get a combination plate because I like the variety. This review has made me hungry! I think dinner tonight is going to be a combination entree for takeout.
Different and Delicious. While I’m no expert on Ethiopian cuisine, I can say the food was delicious and interesting. We got the sample platter and were able to try six or seven different dishes. The restaurant is very simple, but I think that adds to the atmosphere.
Amazing Comfort Food. Addisu has around 10 vegetarian options, including a sample platter. Haven’t had a dish there yet I didn’t like. My wife and I have eaten at highly rated Ethiopian restaurants in both DC and Manhattan; we both feel Addisu is on-par with these restaurants. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys exploring International cuisine and won’t be put off eating with their hands on a shared plate.
