Chris must have been sniffing glue or something his dog left him. Covina has thrived for more than eleven years because it brought delicious Mexican dishes to Lancaster. So Chris can enjoy the road kill, and the rest will enjoy the ethnic flavors of Lancaster city.
Love it!. I just had to respond when I saw the negative reviews. I don’t love everything on the menu at Cocina Mexicana, due to my preferences, but the food is great, and very similar to what I’ve gotten when traveling in Mexico. The tortas are amazing! Give this place a chance … it’s worth it! And honestly, not having a pound of (free or not!) tortilla chips to eat before the meal actually makes me much more likely to enjoy the meal I order. It’s not a fancy place, but the food is well worth it.
Not only was the service terrible it came with attitude The food was Luke warm to cold and when we complained we were told what do you want us to do about it. Shrimp enchilada were made with canned shrimp and so tiny Smaller than a dime. Don’t ask for chips and salsa they don’t have it. Truly one of the worst restaurants on the east coast. Rated as a 1 because I could not rate a zero.
Great service, friendly hole in the wall, no alcohol, BYOB. Must pay for chips & salsa. Very good chips and salsa, but that’s where it ended. All went downhill after that. We won’t be be back. Too bad, we really wanted it to be good.
First of all, ALL Mexican should serve chips and salsa for free!!!! I’m from the south and this isn’t a great place by any stretch!! The tacos are on though!!! I would say I’d prob return but bring my own chips and salsa!!
This is by far the best and most authentic Mexican cuisine in Lancaster. I walked by so many times, and finally went in for lunch today. What a gem! The enchiladas verses were delicioso, and the rice and beans were nice. The portions and prices were both reasonable. I didn’t walk out of there feeling like I had just consumed an elephant. This is on par with Mexican restaurantes I have visited I’m New Mexico and the Southwest. Muy bueno!
TRY AGAIN. This place had some flavors that were good with the salsa. I would rather trap animals in the forest than eat at cocina mexicana again. If people think this is real Mexican food they visited the worst places in that country. Or maybe they have lost their taste and eating frozen veggies with fresh hot water would be great. No idea how they will stay in business.
