A friend and I have been to Himalayan two times now, and both times, our food has been fantastic. We started out with the Vegetable Momo (dumplings), and I did not want the appetizer portion of our meal to end. They were that good. I then had the Navaratan Korma (vegetables in a creamy cashew sauce), and it was also delicious. This restaurant is a tiny little place on E. Orange, so the place gets packed, and no wonder, because they also offer a lunch buffet. We love it, and will go back often!
We had a wonderful meal at Himalayan Curry this evening. We began with an Nepali appetizer that had shredded chicken and a wonderful spicy soy bean salad with cucumbers. My wife enjoyed the curry with shrimp and I had the lamb vandaloo, both dishes were rich and complex with fantastic flavors. I have never given a place a perfect 5, but this place was simply fantastic.
Very nice experience. Amazing food all the time and very polite staff. One of my favorites in Lancaster.
The best!. The best Indian food I have had in PA. The service is superb and the atmosphere is quaint and clean. I look forward to dining in or taking out. It’s always delicious!
Bhuna Goat. One of my favorite dishes! True comfort food. The goat doesn’t even touch the gamy end of the taste spectrum and the thick sauce is almost a gravy. The sauce is lighter tasting than it looks and the flavor of the goat still comes through. This isn’t delicious because they hid the goat flavor with a strong sauce. It all works together and it’s one of my go-to dishes whenever we go here.16 Aug, 2014Chicken Tikka Masala. Pretty much standard Tikka Masala. Not what I consider true Indian food but tasty enough to satisfy the less adventurous members of your party.16 Aug, 2014Naan Bread. House made Naan, just the way it should be. Made fresh on the premises with the wonderful mixture of textures that make for a good Naan. If your dish doesnt come with Naan, order a side of it anyway to mop up all the great sauces or to cool out your pallette after some of the spicier dishes.16 Aug, 2014Rice Pudding. I love finishing my meal with this incredible rice pudding. With a hint of cardamom, it’s better than any of the PA Dutch or Amish versions you will find in the area.16 Aug, 2014Not typical Indian food!. With most of their dishes hailing from Northern India and Tibet, this is not your typical Indian food. Don’t worry, you beginners can still get Chicken Tikka Masala, but I encourage you to explore other options. The Bhuna Goat is tender and delicious without a hint of gaminess. The spices are the stars as in most Indian food but lighter without losing flavor. My wife is constantly asking for us to go for the lunch buffet. Their fresh homemade Naan is out of this world and essential for mopping up the delicious sauces at the bottom of the bowl or plate. If you like Indiana food you will love this Tibetan fare.
CHECK YOUR TAKE OUT ORDER!!!. Ordered two chicken entres by phone. The order was repeated back for verification. Picked up the order and came home to find it only contained one order. Would not answer my phone call until I used a different phone than the one I originally ordered from. When I informed them I only received one order they asked if I was sure there wasn’t two. Can I not count to two??? After being passed from person to person on the phone, I was told if I wanted the rest of my order it would be ready if I came back. I went back and picked it up. When it was all said and done I still only received rice for one order, and the what they originally gave me turned out to be vegetarian instead of chicken like I ordered and paid for. The food was ok, but they need to learn customer service and how to process orders. And you can add at least $1-2 for everything on the 2013 menu posted.
Can’t beat Himalayan Curry and Grill. This is a great restaurant. They get it. It’s cheap, too. A+++++++
