By far one of the best in Lancaster for selection, portions, price, service, and flavor! The lamb tenders and goat cheese salads are wonderful, great French onion soup, shrimp cocktail is one of the best around, and the filet stuffed with crab and topped with Bernaise sauce is unbeatable.
Great food – great drinks. Have been dining at the Loft for close to 20 years. It just keeps improving. The chef changes up the menu every and now then, and he even added the wienerschnitzel from his Octoberfest menu. He carries Lamb Tenders and Escargots (to die for) year round along with frog legs, scallops etc. I think I’ve tasted just about every appetizer. There is something there for everyone. Soups? OMG… They have, hands down, the best French Onion Soup and Mushroom soup in the area… And on Friday and Saturday the Chef has an aged prime rib. We typically get that twice a month and it’s one of those melt in your mouth prime ribs, with succulent seasoned end cap that just falls apart as you eat it… This is one of those 5 star prime ribs, where even the center cut is usually super tender. Try to get there early because it usually sells out by 7:30 or 8:00 pm. Reservations are highly recommended because if there are a lot of reserverations, and you mention the prime rib, I think they make a note of it and make an extra one… There are plenty of fresh seafood dishes and usually at least one catch of the day. The central market is less than a block away so you can see why the foods are so fresh… This is the place you want to take your wife for the anniversary. Dress is upscale to business casual. Drinks like Martinis typically come with a side car so one is usually enough. Decent wine selection of popular favorites. Prices range from 13-30 for entrees. They have an online menu I think.
Excellent!! Be sure to try the oysters in season. And the mushroom soup is another love of mine. We’ve been going there for 10 years and have always had excellent meals and service.
