Stopped in with our family the day after Christmas. Had intended to go to Circle Deli next door but it was closed due to the holiday. Best thing that ever happened to us. The food at Toscana was superb! The salads were fresh and inventive, the soups (we had them all) were excellent. The spinach and egg was the best! We went for lunch so didn’t have many entrees but wish we had based on those we tried. The homemade spinach and cheese ravioli stole the show. The best homemade ravioli I’ve ever had. We don’t live in the area but visit ovcassionally. This was a great surprise and we’ll definitely be back.

Pretty good, not magnifico.. I liked this place, the service was excellent and the food was good. I had the veal Toscana and it was in a lovely sauce that had balanced delicate flavors. The veal itself was a bit tough and chewy. The meal started off with bruschetta with a dip that was excellent. The steamed vegetables were not overcooked. One complaint I have was while they created an attractive and upscale dining room as it got dark the bright street lights glaring through the windows marred the ambience. It was like dining in a downtown parking lot at night. They need to put drapes on those windows!

Cafe Toscana was sufficient; not great, not terrible. High prices for dishes that are subpar for the value. The best parts of the meal were: the bread and tomato and pepper spread as well as the bruschetta (both complimentary. Especially the bread and pepper, that was phenomenal!). As far as the entrees the Beef Ragu with Ribbon pasta was magnificent! the pasta seemed homemade and the beef was its perfect match! as far as the not so good entree: The Veal shank entree was a disgrace to all Italian around the world. It tasted like a beef roast and the risotto that came with had no taste whatsoever; atrocious. The only thing keeping this restaurant halfway decent is the beef ragu with ribbon pasta and the bread and oil. THAT’S IT! The service was nothing to speak of either. Not concerned with a displeased customer and did not clear the dishes or refill your drinks. I wouldn’t eat here again end of story.
