BEST PLACE TO GO IN WILKESBARRE. I went to Mirakuya last night which was my very first time at a hibachi. We made reservations prior (a friend told me they get pretty busy) and we were seated within minutes. The service was great! The hibachi cook was extremely entertaining and it was such a fun time! The best part, the food was to die for. I’ve never had Japanese food and now I know what I’m missing out on. Overall, this was a wonderful experience and we will be back!
Unfriendly Atmosphere. My friend and I went for lunch. I wanted Hibachi and the restaurant wasn’t busy, so we asked to sit at a Hibachi table. There were only three other people at the table and when we sat down the server removed the extra chairs. When we ordered (my friend was only getting sushi) they told us we couldn’t sit at the table unless we were both getting Hibachi. The waitress was very rude in the way she told us and even when we offered to move she was still unfriendly. (Now the hibachi chef was going to be cooking for only three people instead of four because they made us move). It seemed unnecessary. Once we sat at our new table the waiter was also rude, compared to other tables we were ignored. He also stood there staring at us expecting us to know he wanted our order. Overall, it was an unfriendly experience and we were thoroughly disappointed.We will not be returning and will be discouraging others from going as well. I think that it should be noted that I am a huge fan of Japanese food, and have never been made to feel this way at other Japanese establishments.
Good food. I love to eat there…great food…the only thing is that there is a waiting time of 30 minutes to an hour if you have no reservations…but I love the place
My friends and family have been to many hibachi restaurants . Most of them are great- Katana being one of our favorites . But Mirakuya needs a makeover . The food is just so so and overpriced . Some of the hibachi chefs are not too bad but one of the younger guys has a disgusting and degrading mouth towards young women . He goes beyond the realm of acceptable entertainment . I don’t know how someone’s boyfriend or husband hasn’t punched him in the mouth . And I don’t understand how the owner/manager let’s him get away with his disgusting comments . Do yourself a favor and go to Katana
My boyfriend and I love this resteraunt! Being from California and accustomed to amazing sushi, we were hesitant on tryin sushi in Wilkes-Barre but boy were we wrong! From the delicious food, to the friendly wait staff, everything is just awesome! To the people who gave this place negative comments and feedback, you honestly don’t know what your talking about.
Fabulous Sushi and Hibachi. My children and I go to Mirakuya a lot because, their food is exceptional and the half price Sunday’s are fabulous. The hibachi has great food as well but, we are really Sushi lovers. For half price on Sunday’s they do not skimp like other places do. Definitely 100% recommend
Standard experience. This is where the old Top Dog used to be in the Pine mall. Mirakuya has been in Wilkes Barre a long time now and it offers a decent experience. Hibachi has plenty of teriyaki included, no need to add anything sodium wise and the portion is large. They do offer half-decent sushi also. Overall it’s just ordinary.Food = 2.5/5 (standard)Price = 2.5/5 (typical)Service = 2.5/5 (average)Atmosphere = 2.5/5 (normal)Overall = 2.5 out of 5 stars
