After waiting an hour and 40 minutes, the food was marginal at best. We had reservations. 7 of us including a two year old. In the end, after Two complaints, they comped the meals but I am not coming back willingly any time soon.

Classic fairly standard American menu. They have a new wood fired grill that makes great steaks, fish, and wings. They do huge primeribs. My favorite meal is a mix of the appetizers starting with the beef tips. They seem to have a ton of groups for showers and wakes, which would be a pretty good indicator of decent food at a reasonable price. They have been around for about 20 years, another good indicator. My kids love the slushy drinks just for them. A lot of regulars.

POOR SERVICE. Had an opportunity to visit this place in Dec 2012 in the evening. The service was poor. Took forever for service.. Food was ok. Very plain in my opinion… Very expensive… They seemed to spend more time with the people at the bar, than the restaurant part. Maybe they make more money on the people drinking? The bar maid was snooty.. She seemed to have an attitude towards my wife.. I wont be back..

Awful. My husband and I came at 9:00 on a Saturday with our two children after a day at Waldameer park. We wanted decent food and a children’s menu. We got one out of the two. The hostess didn’t smile as we came in, perhaps because we interrupted her chewing on something. The decor was so dirty and outdated that I should have followed my first instinct to leave, but I didn’t. We ordered, a 7 oz medium temp steak for my husband and chicken marsala for me. The server boasted about the homemade Italian dressing, so I chose that for my dressing. It was pretty good and I think the croutons were homemade, so that’s a plus. The salad serving was enormous; I wondered how they could afford such portion sizes. My husband got French onion soup that was overly salty, but as this is often the case with French onion, he shrugged it off. When dinner came, it looked lovely, but that was the last positive aspect of the meal. My chicken was bland and wet, and not from the marsala. There was no seasoning on the chicken at all. Further, the marsala, while looking pretty, was also tasteless. Needless to say, I didn’t eat any of the chicken. I ate my sweet potato, which was overcooked, with butter only as there was not the traditional cinnamon butter accompaniment. There was, however, a weird applesauce-colored sauce, but with no cinnamon or apple flavor, nor any apple pieces. (I left it alone.). My husband’s steak was flavorful and properly cooked – for the first three bites. The middle of the steak was medium well in temp and the end of the cut was well done. (How is that possible?) He slathered it in A-1 and ate it anyway. My son ordered mashed potatoes with brown gravy as the side dish for his grilled cheese. The sandwich was very large and looked nice too with panini grill marks on the bread. Again the portion size was very large. He wasn’t eating his potatoes. After tasting them, I knew why: they were pasty and once again, flavorless, but the gravy made me choke because of all the salt. My daughter didn’t eat a bite of her chicken fingers and mashed potatoes, but that was likely due to the late hour, as I’m not sure one can screw up chicken tenders. Our server was polite, but not attentive. My iced tea was gone before my salad arrived and the glass remained empty. I finished my husband’s tea as well with no refill for him either. When I told the server about the meals, she apologized and promised to send the manager. He walked by us three times after that, turning off lights in the entry way and adjoining dining room, yes, while we still sitting there, but he did not ever stop at our table. The server took off my meal, our iced teas, and my kids’ chocolate milks. We do not live in Erie, but visit every summer. We will never go back to Colony.

Classic Erie. I have been to the Colony a number of times for lunch and the food is always good. They have different specials and soups each day, both of which you can count on tasting great. I have also been to a baby shower here and they were very accomidating. The setting and food were perfect for the occasion.

Good. We had the coconut shrimp and the sliders for lunch. Very good.
