Eh…. I can’t speak for recently, but some time ago I took two different dates to a Red Lobster – one in Erie, PA and one in Akron, OH. Both times we received cold food and when I asked to send it back, I received disdain from the waitresses. The food came back tepid, at best.I understand that people get busy and things happen, but I feel if I’m going to tip 15-20% of my bill to a server, they should be checking to see if the food is hot, especially with seafood. She told the manager, he came out, and basically reprimanded us.The one experience was almost an exact duplicate of the other one, which led me to believe that this is the protocol of Red Lobster. In both instances, we didn’t eat much of our food, I paid for both meals, didn’t tip, and left.It was extremely embarrassing for this to happen in front of my dates. The second time it happened, in a different city/state, I was almost beside myself. The manager was very lucky that I was with a date or I would have been very upset (visibly) with his lack of professionalism.Maybe things have changed, but I’m still afraid to take a date back into one of their restaurants.
