Very fast service, meal ready quickly after you order. Good prices on margaritas. Standard Mexican fare, large menu. We have always had a great meal here. The Cancun burrito is my favorite dish. Complimentary homemade fresh salsa and chips provided as you are seated. Friendly staff. Relatively inexpensive, value for your money.
New restaurant near the Meadows and Tanger outlets in a little strip mall called Park Place. We received warm chips and salsa immediately. The chips were good but the salsa was did not have a whole lot of flavor, probably should have asked for spicer, as I recall from visiting another El Paso, they do have a spicier salsa if you ask. Decided to order tacos, so I had tacos with beef tenders and chorizo. The tacos were covered with cilantro and came with a salsa, some chopped tomato and peppers and some rice. The tacos came on a soft shell and were OK, better than the food I had at the El Paso in Bridgeville but did not get the tacos there. Some of the beef tenders were a tad overcooked but overall enjoyed the tacos. The price was very reasonable.
It’s nice to see all the development going on around the Washington PA area. This restaurant is a little bit off the beaten path, but is not really that hard to find as it is in a building that combines various offices with retail outlets. It opened a month or two ago and I had the opportunity to visit it for lunch while in the area doing other things. The inside decor is not remarkable. There is a dining are with both booths and long tables; a prep area of some sort next to it, and the entrance to the restrooms. Straight ahead of you as you enter is the bar. Looks like a casual restaurant with no pretensions. As soon as I sat down, I was presented with a menu as well as a carafe filled with salsa and a bowl of tortilla chips. Glancing at the table, there were a collection of hot sauces of various heat levels. In my case, I like things a bit spicy, so I was able to use the Tapatio with the salsa to make it to my liking. The tortilla chips are the nice, thick, kind, so they do not break down as soon as you dip them. The menu is quite extensive, but I saw only a couple of dishes that were perhaps out of the ordinary. On the other hand, they might have just been fancier names for dishes you find everywhere. I was there for lunch, so focused on the lunch offerings. The biggest part of that is a listing of about 20 different lunch combinations. I chose the #14 which was a chicken burrito and a chicken enchilada. No sides come with this special. When the plate arrive, there was the food, covered in shredded lettuce with a small wad of sour cream on top. Not very appealing visually. I dug into both and unless one paid close attention to what you were eating, you would have no idea which was the enchilada and which the burrito. The fillings were identical – shredded chicken meat. Unfortunately, the chicken was very very bland. There was no special flavoring to it. The lettuce had more flavor than the chicken! With the little bit of ranchero sauces that I discovered in a corner of my plate, the salsa, and the hot sauce, it was possible to make it somewhat tasty. However, to me this is a major fault. After all, flavors are why you go to a restaurant in the first place! The good news is that the lunch combinations are not expensive and with the chips and salsa, you can leave there feeling satisfied. My total bill, including tip, was $9.I am not sure that I will go there again. Just down 19 is Old Mexico which I recall as much more flavorful and going north for a few miles bring you to an El Campesino. While none of these are good or great mexican food places, they are better than my experiences.
