Great Place. I haven’t had a bad experience at barley creek, If i had to guess i’ve been there about 20 times. I’ve always had pleasant service, the restaurant is always staffed sufficiently, sometimes with several seating hosts/hostesses, which is surprising because it isn’t an extremely large restaurant but anytime ive been there i can’t say it was ever so fully packed that there wasn’t at least a few tables open, so i find it surprising someone had a hard time getting a table. They have expanded and have an outdoor area behind the parking lot, i haven’t been up there yet though, it has some kind of baseball field or something, but they seem to have events there from tastings, to dinners, to sporting events. I believe you can also rent the area when they aren’t having something going on.As far as the beer goes…I’ve been to upwards of 50 microbreweries and brewpubs across the country, and i feel that i know beer pretty well. Barley Creek does have an unfiltered IPA, any unfiltered beer is going to be cloudy, the beer has a strong head and it leaves a thick lacing on the glass which is most likely the cause for the smell noted in one of these reviews, but it is not a bad beer in my opinion. As a beer fanatic i do recommend trying the 13% Superhop IPA. I will say that as far as their wheat beer I am not impressed, though they cater to the customers wants, because the wheat and seasonal wheats sell very well there. Hands down my favorites are the Breakfast Stout, the Nut Brown Ale, Black Lager and Superhop. They always have growlers in stock, which isn’t the case at some brewpubs/micros. Most of my visits there someone at the table usually gets a growler to take home. For the food…the food is excellent and you definitely get a full meal here. Except for the tiny appetizer pierogies. The ribs are great, steak and cheese is excellent (and my favorite thing to order), an order of nachos is huge, pulled pork is good, beer cheese soup is good. Burgers are a hit and miss i’ll say. As for the other other review, i could be wrong, but i do believe they have a flank steak salad. which would explain the cold and chewy complaint he had, but i could be wrong. I’ve never left hungry from here either and i usually either have a bowl of soup and an entree, that i usually have to take half of home because i’m so full.I have one complaint though, their booths have seen better days and some should be replaced, but aside from that I recommend Barley Creek if you happen to be in the area.

Unless you’re a local don’t bother!!!!! They don’t know how to seat a restaurant and will keep you waiting. All the while they will seat locals that they know. Doesn’t make sense in an area that depends on visitors. Hope they go out of business. It’s inevitable by the way they treat their potential business.

Very disappointed by this place. Of all things to not do well at a brewery…the beer was substandard. The first beer I ordered was their IPA. It came out and was more cloudy than any IPA I have ever seen. I mean it looked bad before I even tasted it. The waitress, obviously having been asked a million times about how cloudy it was, informed me that it was unfiltered. I am a big IPA fan…90% of the beers I drink are IPA’s, so I’d like to think I know what I’m talking about. I took one whiff of the head and knew something wasn’t right. It stunk like bad yeast, or too much of it. It tasted horrible and I sent it right back for a chocolate porter. The porter at least tasted okay, but not in any way a well brewed beer. We ate with 4 adults, and I don’t believe anyone finished their meal. The steak that topped my salad was cold and chewy. I tried a sweet potato fry, and it was pretty good. Overall, the beer was below average(avoid the IPA!) as was the food.
