  This place has the best subs around! $8 for a half that easily feeds 2 loaded with meat. These days you pay $7 at most sub joints for half the meat quality and size. Try the roast beef it’s awesome! Highly recommended

  Farewell, Farlow’s!. Farewell,Farlow’s. The place has been sold, the original owners have moved to Florida, and the new owners are lowering the quality of the hoagies. Oh, it’s still a decent hoagie – they appear to be using the same bread and D&W meats – but there’s A LOT less meat on the hoagies now (really stingy!), the meat on the Italian is mostly just ham, and I’m not sure that the previous owner really taught them how to make hoagies properly; some of the meat was sliced too thick, they either forgot the oil & vinegar on the bread or put so little on you couldn’t tell, etc. I grew up with Farlow’s back when it was really still Farlow’s Philadelphia style in Ashland (the move to Pottsville downgraded the hoagies, so this is a second downgrade), and I can’t tell you how disappointing these new hoagies are compared to what they used to be, even just a year ago before the change in ownership. There’s nothing Philadelphia about the hoagies anymore. They’re still decent, just nothing special. I won’t be recommending these to people visiting the area anymore and will not be buying large quantities of these for special events.
