It’s wonderful to receive a generous portion of incredibly flavorful food. The staff was very warm and ensured we were cared for survive our meal. My husband and I will eat here every time visit Scranton!

Had a fabulous dinner there. Everyone was so attentive from the servers to the owner himself. They even surprised us and sang Happy Birthday to me. I enjoy the food and atmosphere at this restaurant and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a superb italian resturant.

Sam is scary. After my review last summer, when Sam, the owner refused to replace 3 unopened mussels, reaching into my plate, prying one open, telling me to eat it, and then saying we were unfair to want replacement, I was dragged into the Casa Bella some months later because my relatives’ family celebrating a birthday didn’t know about Sam’s behaviour to me. Rather than refusing to go and ruining the celebration, I reluctantly joined them at the Casa Bella. Sam, took one of them aside and said I was not welcome there. He intended to ask me to leave but she convinced him not to make a scene. I knew nothing of this until we arrived home later. Needless to say I would never go back again because of his behaviour.I think of this today because I rec’d a letter from my sister in Oregon, saying the unopened mussels problem (two of them) occurred at a restaurant in Portland. Not only did they replace 2 mussels w/ 10, they brought out the entire replacement dinner, including shrimp and scallops. Talk about customer service par excellence. To compare this w/ the behaviour from an owner of a local Restaurant as happened at the Casa Bella is bewildering. I’ve told everyone I know my story of this place. I hope Sam has changed his ways.

CMO. Not sure what restaurant the gentleman with the negative review ate at, but this is by far the best Italian restaurant in the W-B/Scranton area. Other than the former Goodfellas in West Pittston, you will not find a menu with better tasting and creative food selections. A blend of all the regions of Italy with their distinct tastes and flavors. Atmosphere is acceptable, a little tight and loud, but truly love that, feels like my Nonna’s house at Easter in days gone by. If marble steps and silk curtains are your main point in choosing a restaurant, then this may not be for you, but if you want some of the best Italian food in the area – Go. And make reservations, as it seems many other people agree with me!!
