Real deal diner. Classic deli in a turn-of-the-century brick corner building featuring high tin ceilings and dark wood paneling. There is also sidewalk seating available during nice weather. Lets just say if you order a full sandwich you wont be hungry for a while. If youre traveling through this quaint little town this is the place to stop for lunch. (Not open for dinner.)

Name confusion. I went to a diner at this address, but it is called the Glider not Smith ‘s. Lots of diner character with only senior citizen men (and three random school boys) in the place. Hash is excellent. Cinnamon buns are almost devoid of cinnamon with canned frosting on top. Fresh brewed iced tea advertised, but it looked like it came out of a machine labeled Brisk brand tea. Maybe Smith’s had fresh brewed and homemade frosting?

Dumb tourist review. On the way back from our honeymoon in Canada, my wife and I went through Scranton because she is, you guessed it, a huge fan of The Office. We had breakfast at the Glider because of it’s retro look and a reference made to it on the show. I was really impressed by the quality of the food and the portion size! Her and I ate for $13 and had a lot of food left over! Sad we couldn’t take it home. I’m sure Scrantonites get tired of Office fans coming through, but they sure do have some great food there!

Wonderful real diner atmosphere. The waitress knows the entire breakfast crowd (a considerable number), and they evidently know one another as well! I’ll be making this a regular stop for sure!
