Legendary Scranton Instution. It’s no accident Stirna’s is a local landmark. This was the place your grandpa took your gram, while they were dating, when he REALLY wanted to impress her. Two generations later, it’s still just as impressive. My first visit was as a toddler & I’ve eaten about 100 meals there over the last 30 years. Not once has the food been anything but perfect. Not only is the food good but it has an amazing atmosphere. This was the only restaurant I ever felt I was being treated as a member of the family. As a kid, the owner gave me a silver dollar (which I still have) just for being cute kid. He didn’t know me from anybody. If you have been there lately, they have done some extensive remodeling. The updated decor truly provides a fine dining experience. Even better, their prices are reasonable & an absolute bargin for the quality. Oh & don’t worry, they still serve those famous whiskey sours. You can also continue to count on the kilted bagpipe players to strole through on St. Patty’s Day.

The dinner was very reasonably priced and you got soup or salad and choice of a desert. In these times that is a great deal.
