Love the steak fajitas. Mad mex never lets me down. The environment is very funky and different. The hubby always gets a angry hippie burrito. Must try.
Really enjoy coming here after a long day of work. The margaritas and food are both amazing. I would recommend the traditional margarita on the rocks they are great!
The margaritas here are absolutely amazing. I love coming here after a long day of work with my coworkers and getting some drinks and salsa and chips.
Mad Mex is a Pittsburgh staple! Everything on the lengthy menu is worth a try at some point and you can’t go wrong with the great beer selection or the house margaritas. I will continue to return time and time again.
We love mad mex, but the location in S. Highland is employed with the least customer friendly hostesses and waitresses of the franchise. They always claim that there is some weird policy that prevents them from making diners happy. Once, our friend went to the restroom and they would not bring him a refill on his margarita until he returned, because it was policy. Other times they could separate checks on a group of 14 because it was too complicated. Today in a relatively empty restaurant they couldn’t sit us until a majority of our party of 11 showed up. Only 5 of us were here. I don’t mind policies that inconvenience the customer to help the restaurant run smoothly, but they always present the policy in an unfriendly way.
Very rude. My girlfriend and I sat outside and ordered quesadillas, both of which were pretty bad but, the beers and appetizer was good. It started to drizzle but it was ok because we were protected by a glass overhang. Mid conversation and barely half of our food eaten, without warning the overhang started to be taken down while it was still raining! My girlfriend and I got drenched and the rest of our food was ruined as well as the other patrons sitting outside. We went in and were like WTF! and the host said the manager made the call to bring down the glass overhang. We tried talking to the manager but he was nowhere to be found. They offered to seat us inside but it was ridiculous because we were drenched and our food was already ruined!!! We promptly left after paying our bill and will never return. To the manager: It was so rude to bring that overhang down without warning letting your customers and their food get all wet. You lost us as customers as well as the other patrons outside.
I dig this place. Half priced wings and drafts is awesome with their draft selection. Get a wing-o-rito and thank me later.
