We tend to stop by Prantl’s around any holiday. We love the burnt almond torte. The cake is so light with a nice custard and the creamy buttercream and the wonderful and crunchy toasted almonds. But we get a few other treats as well. For Halloween they have ghosts and other neat treats. At Easter they have Frogs. All very good and the kids love them, even the big kids.

Rude customer service!!. I love the almond cup cakes and the chocolate almond cup cakes. The s’mores cup is to die for. I also love the marble cakes. The only reason why I would rate them a little less is because they are RUDE. I wish they were a little pleasing and welcoming. When they take your order they talk so fast and rush you so much so that you feel awkward to stand there. If they are making so much of profits why don’t they just expand the place, make sure they answer calls at office hours, the phone keeps on buzzing and i hope they start an online form to order bday or any event cakes.

The burnt almond torte is heavenly! I wish the Prantl’s locations were more convenient to where I live in the south hills!

Strike Three!. My family has always loved this bakery. We never bought a bad thing there. However, in the last few years things have really gone downhill. We have had terrible times ordering birthday cakes! I’ve recently been told that ordering three days in advance does not give them time to bake a 14 inch cake. Makes you think that all the smaller cakes are pre-baked and frozen. I can’t believe that they require a deposit or, in some cases, full payment upon ordering. Never ran into this anyplace else. We also ordered a very over-priced cake last year that was an absolute mess. -Uneven layers and stale. I’m done with the frustration and this bakery. I was so happy to finally find a bakery to replace Guenert’s. We’ll all really miss it – the way it used to be.

DIRTY and STALE. I agree, The Prantl Family ran a spotless bakery with fresh products. Now it is dirty – actually filthy! – and they sell day old products without telling you they are day old!!! Why go to a bakery for day old products??? I have NEVER heard of a bakery having ‘display’ cookies in the case and not having them fresh and for sale! YIKES! I have not been there for awhile – went today……and disappointed again! Today was my last trip. Still miss you Jane and Henry Prantl!!!
