Soba is always a solid choice for date night. It has a lovely, romantic atmosphere with three levels of intimate dining. For a small plate to start and share, we have enjoyed the crispy tofu, the mushroom dumplings delectable sauce and the lobster maki. The seared tuna is always a perfect rare, and comes with a side of kim chi that is quite the perfect accompaniment. If you are a filet type, you will be happy with this choice, and although the menu changes seasonally, you will likely find a fish choice such as Chilean sea bass that usually has an interesting sauce. Specialty drinks also change seasonally, but if they have a Rosemary infused martini, oh yes. Get that. Try to save some room for dessert, the banana split is an elegant indulgence with plenty for two, as is the cashew terrine. A good selection of ports and scotches can land the plane. Have fun.

Very Impressed. Had New Years Eve dinner here on suggestion from a friend. We were spending NYE together and they made reservations for Soba. I was a bit hesitant and first because I am not a very big seafood fan. I like to think I have a very good pallet for food, being a lifetime cook myself. I was overly impressed. We ordered four appetizers to share along with four different entrees that we all tasted. Everything was divine and cooked to perfection. Being a big steak connoisseur i had the filet, and it was seasoned perfectly and melted in your mouth. Soba is a bit on the expensive side, and I have a very big problem paying for food that I could make better myself, but I have no doubts that I will return again…it was worth every penny. Bravo

Better food elsewhere at 1/3 the price. Food ordered:Drinks – Rhubarb Fizz, Flying Dog PorterAppetizers – Potstickers and Lettuce WrapsEntrees – Dolsot Bi Bim Bap and Vietnamese Beef NoodlesFor $12, the Rhubarb FIzz was underwhelming, over-iced, overly bittered. Flying Dog Porter is a great beer. The Potstickers were ok, but tiny, while the Lettuce Wraps were the star of the entire dinner. Vietnamese Beef Noodles were bland and flavorless. The menu lists them as including jalapeno, but there was no heat whatsoever. As for the Bi Bim Bap, I’ve had this a few times at Korean restaurants, and it was very… different. They essentially took the appetizers and side dishes and tossed them in the pot. The kim chi and pickled shiitake just didn’t belong in the dish, and brought a very off flavor to the entire things. It took a full dousing of the goju jang for the dish to be eatable. Very very disappointing.Service was ok. They asked how the meal was too many times, yet after 15 minutes I had to flag down a waiter just for them to take my card so we could pay and leave. It was my wife’s birthday, and we took advantage of Big Burrito’s GREAT free entree promotion, but even with $23 worth of Vietnamese Beef Noodles taken off the check, I still felt completely ripped off paying $80 for the rest of the meal and a tip. I’d much rather go to Noodlehead and pay $20 for a much better meal next time.

Dined with a party of 20 and had a 3 course menu for $45 per person. The sample app start was good and so was the salad, but that is absurd pricing when you only have the option for shrimp and pork Pad Thai or Fried Rice.

Good to me. I have many food allergies and it is difficult for me to eat out. At Soba, they took care of me and I had no ill effects. I ordered the Elysian Field roast lamb after having told the waiter that I am allergic to salt, vinegar, alcohol and cheese. They brought a version of the lamb that tasted delicious to me and I had no after effects. What a nice chef! My husband and adult daughter both had fish and they loved the food. The wait staff is there, but they are not annoying, like many places, where they ask you 3 or 4 times, how is it? That only happened once at Soba. Truly enjoyable, yummy food, kind chef, lovely atmosphere. We will go again.
