Gluten Free Friendly. I have been going to Saen Thai for over 15 years. I live near Allentown and have to drive an hour to get to the restaurant. My wife and I are food snobs (sort of) and this is our favorite restaurant. We have been to other Thai restaurants, but this one has always been our benchmark. I am not going to rave about the food or service. I wouldn’t drive an hour+ in the snow, to get there, if the food wasn’t good. The restaurant is in the Pocono’s and depending on the day, time of day, time of year, the restaurant can get very busy. They do a pretty good job of trying to handle the rush. If you go during a busy period, it’s best to be patient and wait it out. We always go for the weekend lunch because it tends to be a little quieter then. My daughter has Celiac and it is very difficult to find restaurants that do well catering to people with Celiac or gluten intolerance. There are very few restaurants we feel comfortable taking our daughter to for fear of cross-contamination, or lack of GF options. Saen Thai does a very good job understanding, managing and providing GF food options. We go to the restaurant once or twice a month and my daughter has never shown any signs of contamination after eating at the restaurant. My daughter is 5 and this is also her favorite restaurant.
Restaurant experience. A very disappointing experience. The Restaurant is an Asian Cuisine, very small only 7 – 8 tables, owned/managed by an Asian. The Owner/Manager is very discriminatory to Asian Customers, but very entertaining and hospitable to white Customers. If you are Asian, he ignores you as if you are never there, never comes and to talks to you, makes you feel unwanted in his Restaurant. However, his white staff/employees are very respectful and accommodating and very welcoming. This is very sad because everybody pays the same price, the Owner/Manager should treat Customers equally, whether white, brown, black, yellow or red. At the back of his menu, his opening words are WELCOME TO SAEN THAI CUISINE, these words are contrary to the Owners/Managers behavior. I will never ever recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Simply the Best. Without a doubt, Saen is one of my favorite restaurants. Everything is prepared perfectly and couldn’t be fresher. Mr Boon never writes anything down and will remember what you ate, the amount of heat in the dish months later! Sometimes it’s fun to let him make something for you if you can’t decide – just give him an ingredient or two as a guideline. Save room for the fried banana dessert!
Excellent Thai food! Great Satay and House Special Fried Rice. Shrimp and mushrooms in all of the dishes were great. It is very busy but didnt wait too long for a table. Highly recommend.
The size if the restaurant is not representative of the greatness of their dishes, service and value for money. The flavor of the various dishes is just awesome and makes this the best Thai food I had in a long time.
Trapped Crab. I do not know if you have ever experienced Thai food any better within a 75 mile radius but i can assure you that you won’t! Try Mr Boon’s dining experience and you will be well pleased. Job well done Every time!
