I visited Ms. Tootsie’s while hanging with friends from out of town, and we were looking for a nearby soul food joint. Everyone had a variety of choices, but mostly went with the fried chicken, baked mac n cheese and greens. Personally for me, the food was good. However, there’s so much to choose from and since I’ve only eaten here twice and had similar items both times, I can say that what I tasted reminded me of grandma’s cooking. My friends enjoyed their meals as well, and this is still a cool joint to visit.
Held hostage at this bait and switch BAR – NOT a restaurant!. The food was delicious – when I was ALLOWED to eat. Ms. Tootsie’s is NO LONGER a restaurant!!! It is a bar at which one is forced to drink, until for the trolls for the bar owner determines that enough funds have been collected from imbibing to be granted the right to eat. I ate here when it was really a restaurant. No reservations are allowed. When my friend and I arrived, we were sat at the bar indefinitely, and i have never been a drinker, so I hungrily sipped water for two hours with a gigantic speaker blasting my ear drums into dysfunction. The dining room was empty the entire time. About 14 out of 15 tables were empty for our two hour bar sentence. was the two hour starvation and the obnoxious hostess worth the wait? NO!!!
