Great Place. This place embodies both the old and the new of the southside into one very good Sports Bar/Restaurant. It is just a good-old down to earth Pittsburgh eatery. The food quality has gone down a little bit in the last year, but it is still one of my favorite hang-outs.A frequent patron!
Great Southside Cafe. The best sports cafe Southside has to offer. It has everything except 4 star atmosphere and pricing. Indoor, outdoor patio, sidewalk and bar seating. Fish, grilled chicken and sandwiches are awesome, about the cheapest you’ll find anywhere with similar quality and quantity. The nacho plate is huge, about a half pound of genuine melted cheddar cheese and your choice of grilled meats with all the jalapenos and veggies for under $8. Serves two 225lb men or 3 nomal people, NO cheese whiz at Cupkas. Crowd varies widely. Friday and Saturday evenings is mostly under 30 crowd. A mix of ages for pgh pro sport events on all the flat screens. When it’s a Pitt or Duquesne game, expect mostly college crowd. VERY friendly atmosphere of professionals, students and blue collar. I’ve lived in North Hills of Pgh for many years, yet I drive 15+ miles to go there.
