If you go here you run the risk of having your REAL license or ID destroyed by the doorman. I’m 22 and I came in with my real ID and he literally tried to break it in half, and when it bent he said it was fake. I then pulled out my passport. He was rude, but admitted he made a mistake. He’s such an idiot. Don’t waste your time and risk having your property destroyed just to get into some nasty dive with rude service and moronic bouncers.
Horrible place. My friend was attached by the doorman. Lost both front teeth and had to get stitches because he talked to his ex two years ago. Owners then locked the doors and shuffled the attached out the back door before police arrived and then told police they didn’t know his last name or address even though he’s been an employee for many years.
Mean. Barmaid is really really rude. Nothing but politeness and smiles, and she hardly came to get a drink despite it not being busy at all. Also, she yelled at me when I asked what kind of drinks she likes to make….never again.
Been going there for years, with gay and straight friends alike. It’s a good local hangout with cheap drinks and a good jukebox. I wasn’t there when the alleged homophobic incident happened, but I know the staff and it seems pretty far fetched that it happened exactly as described. It’s more likely you got asked to leave for being obnoxious and just happened to be gay. In 15 years I’ve been entertained many times by the bouncing of people acting foolish, disrespecting the bar, bartenders, or other customers, but never anyone who didn’t deserve it, my own friends included. If you want your arse kissed when you walk into a bar, this probably isn’t your place. It’s a straightforward place with cheap drink prices, pool tables, music, and ALL KINDS of patrons…give it a try and decide for yourself.
I used to rave about there Beer selection Now I’m just disgusted with them. They refused two friends of mine beacause they where kissing and just so happened to be the same sex! What a way to display a backwards close minded to potential customers. If I was the owner of this bar I would find out who that bartender was and fire him! Unless of course u want to start hosting KKK ralleys and skinhead nights!
Exactly…. Yeah, a close friend of mine was refused entry because the door-man didn’t like the way he was dressed. the staff is always extremely unfriendly and rude. the beer is cheap but lets remember the fact that there are TONS of bars on carson street offering nearly identical deals. i used to frequent the place but haven’t been there in almost a year.
Booo. Hate doesn’t taste all that great… come on, that’s not what Pittsburgh is all about. It’s unfortunate because your beer selection isn’t all that bad; it’s just the bad attitude that you serve with it that doesn’t pair well. Next time, my friends and I will find another bar to enjoy.
