I’ve never been to Germany, but i recognize the company logo from travel shows and even the amazing race.So of course I had to go! Because I was in town to assist a family member go to the hospital, all I could do was go for takeout.First impressions about the ambiance, when you step inside you kinda feel like your in a dream… you see the vats they use to make beer, wooden interior, german music, and pretty waitresses in german outfits.Went straight to the menu and ordered a pork shank and breaded pork chop. While waiting for the order, people and families were all smiles enjoying their beers and meals. When it comes to food, they both tasted great, though i strongly recommend the pork shank! The saurkraut and coleslaw delicious. I just wish driverless cars existed already so I could try out their beers as well and have my car do the driving.
Whenever I visited Pittsburgh, grabbing a beer at Hofbruhaus was a ritual. Loud music? Yes. Crazy Thursdays? Yes. The traditionally decorated interior to the beer that is brewed on-site, Hofbruhaus Pittsburgh has been a memorable experience every time I visited. Hefe Weizen is my favorite beer. There would definitely something to please you feom their variety of Bavarian and American food menu.Thursday – Saturday is the best time to visit.
Very loud place which I have been wanting to try. Could not sit outside because of the loud music. Found out the loud music was just about everywhere inside as well. Hostess found us a quiet side room. After all that the food we ordered took a while. The sandwich was good. The potato soup very good. The spatzels I thought had too much butter. The beer I tried was very tasty. Not sure if it is worth going back though.
Niceplace to go on the southside for a variety of beer. Great location because after you have some drinks you can take a walk around southside works.
What a great atmosphere on a Thursday night!! Highly recommend to come here for a drink and a dance on Thursday, which looked like it was uni night.Food was pretty average, would come here again and order something different. I love potato pancakes, but these ones were too oily and not enough potato.
We love this place! My usual is the schnitzel weiner art with egg and pretzel with bier cheese. The go to for beer is the hefeweizen or a radler. The atmosphere is always fun and relaxing, and this location is one of our favorites. I honestly don’t know why it took me so long to leave a review for them.
Every time I go to the Hofbrauhaus in Pittsburgh, I’m cool with it. Its not amazing, but its good. The bang for the buck is there (even though we didn’t buy last night, thanks to a great friend). We went for a boat ride – a boat ride with grownups only. There are plenty of spots to tie up, but then you’ve got to walk into the city to get where you want to be. SouthSide Works was our go-to last night because of the new marina there. We tied up, hopped out, and were sitting at a table at Hofbrauhaus within 5 minutes. Chose to sit outside because the weather was phenomenal.~ Use the No-Wait app~ Sit outside if the weather is good~ Get the smaller beer, the big beer glass is wicked heavy~ They have a Gluten Free menu & a kids menuAnd do eat? I’m a big fan of the Works Sampler to get started. Its a little bit of everything that you probably want to try. I like schnitzel, so I prefer the Bauern Schnitzel – put beer cheese & ham on it, all good. IPA-hole went with Wurstplatte. I was hoping someone would get the weiner art. No one did.
